The private room had a glass cabinet right behind the bed which was pretty uncomfortable to lean on and the room was kinda dark.

Great location, and super affordable private room! There was a good vibe about the place, quiet but felt like a mountain lodge kinda vibe. Warm showers !

Hot water lasts for maybe 1 minute, can be quite noisy with the road at night.

Good chilling space and seemed very homely which we loved. There was a water filter attached to the tap, so you could drink as much purified water as you wanted whilst reducing the impact on the environment. Rooms were nice and cosy. Friendly staff 😀

The pillows were very lumpy, the fridge was on but was not making anything cold (we had the waterbottle in the freezer to make cold and it didn't freeze overnight)

Great location, quick walk to el parque centro, good sized room, bathroom, seating area, and kitchen.

There was a very loud local rooftop party going on the Saturday night we were there - not sure if this is a weekly occurrence! Facilities are fairly basic but you can book hikes and transfers through the hostel.

Good location. A good base if you're trekking in the area. Friendly staff, the rooms were all a decent size and it was one of the cheapest places we stayed in Guatemala.

The kitchen can get very busy especially around lunch and dinner time but somehow everyone‘s food will find its place on the stove.

Really chilled atmosphere created by the lovely local staff and international volunteers, and many travelers staying for longer periods - so it feels very welcoming and familiar to stay here.

Great hostel in a beautiful little spot tucked away from the road. Kitchen facilities were great, wifi was good, beds were comfortable. Easy to walk places and friendly, helpful staff.

Xela is bloody freezing at night, so rooms can get cold. The guys at reception offer extra blankets, though. Good people.

Great location, decent socialising areas. Decent enough kitchen. Can organise all the trips you need in the area and on going shuttles.

This may or may not be a problem for you - just note that one of the private rooms (piano room) doesn't have a functioning interior lock (means when you're inside door can't be locked) . It can be locked with a padlock when you leave.

Centrally located with a cute interior garden and sitting area, the staff are awesome - knowledgeable & helpful. Lots of volunteering opportunities.

Not enough light . Night lamp gave the best light. Staff of temp volunteers of tourist are at points just not able to give good help or directions.

It would be nice to upgrade the kitchen equipement a bit with a better frying pan.

Relaxed hostel with beautiful Colonial style rooms. A lot of people stay here for longer and like to cook and eat in the communal areas.

The pans in kitchen were ready to throw out, also a little bit small kitchen. Only one shower was warm and maybe could do with a extra seperate toilet. A lot of volunteers work the reception and knwo nothing about the area and the local busses (ecept for the owner and the Australian guy who really helped us a lot)!

The room was great with a super comfortable bed and bedside light, a lot of storage. Really cool old house in general. Free drinking water. Wifi was strong enough. Close to the market.
