The only thing to be aware of is that the kitchen is a bit small — if several guests are cooking at the same time, it can get a little crowded, though it wasn’t a big issue for us.

We had a very pleasant stay. The location is great, the laundry service was quick and clean, and the staff were friendly. We also appreciated that coffee and tea were available. Overall, we were very happy with the value for money.

The bathroom is small and needs some updates. The shower curtain was very dirty and the shower head sprayed water everywhere. There was not a consistent flow. I would recommend replacing both of these. The sink faucet needs to be tightened also.

The location is great and easily accessible to restaurants and the ferry. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the free water was a great addition. The bathroom is next door to this room, but on the outside. I did not utilize the tv in the room. Pictures are accurate.

Bathrooms were cleaned everyday but could use an update (toilet seat a bit worn and faucet leaking for example). Nothing too bad but you get what you paid for.

Location was great in the middle of the main road but still secluded enough to have a good, quiet night sleep. Warm water in the shower and some coffee in the morning but overall very basic.

The kitchen is a bit small so if it was busy you may have to wait, but it wasn't a problem for us.

Comfortable, good kitchen facilities, comfortable bed and great shower with hot water. Lovely green courtyard space with places to sit away from the room. Also off the main street so away from road noise, super quiet. Just a 7 min walk to the dock to access the rest of Lake Atitlan.

The room was cozy, comfortable, and clean. The courtyard area is quiet and nice, especially the cat lounging outside. Staff were friendly and helpful. Both the room and the rides to & from Panajachel were a great value.

The walls are a little thin so it was slightly noisy at times, but nothing too bad.

My room was clean and comfortable. There is tea and coffee available at certain points through the day. I only stayed for one night after the border crossing before taking the lancha across the lake, and it was a lovely stay.

The room was loud at night (close to party area of town)- bring earplugs. Depending on your schedule, plan for breakfast the day before. We like a quiet (non restaurant) breakfast with our kids, and we couldn’t find much open to bring pastries/coffee back to the hotel at 7:30am.

Great location. While it is a budget hotel, the room was larger than I expected. We had the room with the balcony, and enjoyed our quiet breakfast there. Both the room and public areas were clean and in good condition.

The only two considerations are that you can likely hear people heading back in when the bars close (they did sound like it was a fun time!) and the cleaning agent used in the bathroom was a very strong smell (to me). But these are minor items, and just for your information. Otherwise, all was great!

The location and value were amazing! The outdoor spaces are lovely including the garden, and the animals (a macaw, cat, and pond with gold fish)! We sat in the garden in the evenings and it was so nice. The staff were lovely and very helpful and we enjoyed the free coffee, tea, and water. The room is basic, but the bed was very comfortable and we had a connected bathroom. All was as expected. The value was wonderful and we slept very well (the cool temperature was delightful)! We had a lovely weekend at Lake Atitlan!

During my stay, the hostel itself was quiet, but it's close to the main partying street, so you'll hear loud music until late evening. Thin windows and doors. Dogs barking at night is common in Guatemala... here's not different.

Nice little hostel, with private bathroom. Basic, but all clean and working. Never had issues with hot water.

We stayed at Hospedaje El Viajero for two nights after a few very long days and it was a great place to rest! The location is very central with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops close by. There are small garden areas and a terrace which are really nice places to hang out. It isn't a particularly social hostel (although we had some really nice conversations with other guests), but we weren't looking for partying etc. We had a room with a shared bathroom, which was always very very clean! The room was comfortable and a really good size - the only comment I will say is that it was very dark in the room, maybe because it was in the corner of the property away from natural light, but the lights in the room weren't strong enough to make the room bright. Otherwise we had a really good stay!

it’s a little rough around the edges - for example mosquito screens coming off windows, paint peeling in bathroom, old lumpy pillows etc but they weren’t major problems

it’s comfortable, clean and quiet it’s off the main road so you can get to everywhere very quickly and easily, but it’s through a little oasis of greenery so it’s quiet and beautiful free tea/coffee and drinking water is really great

Shared bathroom is upstairs from the bedrooms so a slightly awkward walk, but not a huge bother

Comfy, spacious and clean rooms, helpful staff who helped us book onward travel and do laundry, a nice roof terrace and garden with a cool parrot!
