Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

France-No hot water (just warm water), but it was enough. -Very loud location. It is located in front of a school where they play very loud music or watch films in open air until very late at night (10:00PM). This happened every night (I stayed for 3 nights) -Unlike what was stated on Booking.com, breakfast was not included and check out was at 11. It was not possible to leave my luggage for a few hours after checkout. -Credit Card not accepted
-Good for a few nights -Good food -Good wifi -Central location close from everything and easy to reach -Locally-owned hotel and restaurant, unlike many restaurants in San Pedro

SlovakiaThe views from the hotel are not the best, in front of it there is a school so you can hear children's noise quite often.
San Pedro is ideal place to stay if you want to visit Lago. It's one of the biggest villages and Shanti Shanti is very close to all main venues in the village. There is also very nice restaurant directly in the hotel, where they serve very good breakfast.

CanadaThe bathroom is quite old and could use an update. But compared to what the other hotels in town look like from the outside, this one is much nicer.
We had a nice, large room, everything was very clean. It's a close walk to the pier and restaurants and far enough away to be quiet. The shower is probably our least favourite part. It could use an update as the tiles are little grubby. The water doesn't get extremely hot, but enough. The room has a small fan which we needed and it helped a lot to sleep. Breakfast is excellent, your choice from their restaurant menu of eggs, omlette, pancakes, yogurt and granola. And they have a friendly pet turtle. The staff are very nice.

United StatesUnforutnately, the hotel right across from a 3 floor school so the view from my 3rd floor room window was directly to the windows of the school and vise versa. Felt my privcacy was poor and kept my curtains closed most of the day. Not all rooms face the school though.
The staff was very helpful and sweet. The location is pretty good, close to restaurants and minute walk to the lake. There is a laundry facilities, massage, salon, and tour companies very close. Alffredos Italian restaurant has great gnocci and is also a few meters away.

AustraliaThe rooms are basic - OK for the price . We had trouble getting our toilet bin emptied. The staff said they would empty it daily , in fact they spent time with us to explain the importance of not flushing paper and that they would empty it daily .Each day they asked us , when we we’re heading out for the day ,if they could enter our room to do so . We always said yes of course but it was never done. We then took to asking someone each day to do it and they said yes but it was never done then either. We gave up after a couple of days and did it ourselves. The plumbing - toilet and shower- need attention. Very short warm showers only . We also got told that we left a tap running in the bathroom and that staff had to enter our room to turn it off. We didn’t- it was like they thought we were in another room despite me always confirming the room number regarding the emptying of the bin that was never done. Would probably stay elsewhere next time.
Friendly staff and the breakfast included- at either the property or their near by restaurant( which I’d recommend for the food and view) was delicious and generous.

United StatesComfortable seating in the rooms could be added.
The location is really not far from the dock. We realized we didn't need to take a Tuk-Tuk after all. The room was clean and bare with no extras, so it was hard to get comfy and cozy. While there isn't a party culture at this hotel, there is a lot of noise on the streets at night, so you hear all of it, but the hotel really can't do much to control this. The host was very helpful in communicating with the tour guides for me.
