Such friendly staff, organised laundry and Mayan Face tour for me. Wonderful and plentiful breakfast. Able to check in early. Andrea was so helpful and able to communicate at any time over WhatsApp.

There were some bugs in the room and bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, my shower didn’t work in the evening.

Great value for money - you get a warm welcome by Andrea or Francisca upon arrival in the beautiful town of San Juan. The rooms are small and simple, but have everything for a short stay: private bathroom, smart TV (with netflix) and a fan to cool off. The breakfast was great, definitely add it when booking here : pancakes, fresh guatamalan coffee, yoghurt with fruits, and a slice of toasted bread. The area is calm and all the people are very friendly! Thanks Andrea, we will definitely choose you again!

The rooms are a bit small, but who is really here to stay in their room anyways. PS the bed is big though, i’m 6’7 and had no trouble sleeping!

Francisca and her team were welcoming and responsive. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. It was a good location in San Juan which is an excellent base to explore the Lake Atitlán area.

Andrea is a fantastic host. She and her staff make an amazing breakfast. The location of the hostel sits nicely off one of the main streets, so it's less busy but still very well connected to city central. Andrea herself, as mentioned, is fantastic. She is incredibly generous with her knowledge of both the pueblo, people, and life.

We had the room with private bathroom, it was extremely comfortable and clean. The shared parts were cleaned everyday, there was everything needed to cook and also coffee and tea available. The location is in the heart of the town, and the town itself is wonderful. Highly recommend staying here!

We loved our stay at Chirris Hostel! Felt clean, with friendly staff that cared about making our stay a good one and the kitchen was really neat and functional for us to cook. Our room was tucked inside so we didn’t hear the noise from the town too much. The courtyard area was lovely although only one sofa and a couple of tables and chairs, so when it was busy there wasn’t enough options for comfort. Worked out perfectly for us whilst studying at Spanish school. Thank you Andrea!

We stayed in the room with a window facing the shared kitchen. In this room there was almost no sunlight coming in the room and there was almost no acoustic barrier from the noise coming from the shared space. However, the stuff was very helpful and even organised an additional table lamp for us so that we had a pleasant lightning in the room. They gave us valuable tips where to go to swim in the lake as well as other useful information. The shared kitchen is very useful, it is possible to do the laundry too and the location is very central. The whole hostel is on the ground floor (the terrace on the picture too). Overall a pleasant experience.

    Property response:

Thanks and have a nice trip!

Just in the centro of San Juan

It would be perfect if a hammock was added.

Great kitchen, helpful welcoming staff who even organised a tour the next day at 9pm. Bed was comfy too :) location was perfect too, near the dock to catch a boat to other towns around the lake

Unfortunately and no fault of the hostel the water went off one morning but this was due to construction in the town

Lovely, small, well located, clean hostel. Close to the main market with a great additional large fruit and veg stall across the road. They offer a range of shuttles and tours and suggested some nice hikes we could do ourselves. Staff were all lovely and helpful. It was great to have cooking facilities and tea and coffee and we appreciated having an ensuite. There's just the four rooms, so it's not a party place, but good opportunities to chat to other guests.

Run by a kind mother-daughter dou, just a couple minutes walk from the dock. Relatively small hostel, with only 3 rooms, making the stay a chill and relaxing one. The place is very clean throughout the day, the kitchen is just what I needed, and there is a big market with fresh produce just across the street.

    Nothing, it was perfect.

The staff was super friendly! Small rooms, which can be nice! Perfect location.

Only 1 bathroom, employees are not around a lot.. for example at check out. Kitchen is dirty…Due to location right in the center it‘s super loud at night!
