How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I loved the thoughtful eco-friendly touches, like the compostable amenities, which added to the quality of the experience. A big thank you to Valandis for recommending the cruise—it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip and a memorable way to explore the area. The staff here were friendly and attentive, always ready to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with breathtaking views and a sustainable touch!

Verified reviewThe accommodation was absolutely amazing. After looking around we still think we picked the Gem, best sunset view of the island. The villa/cave is just beautiful and we are soo happy we had the chance to stay here. Can’t wait to come again and would definitely stay here ! Service and communication with the host has also been 5 star, and made our holiday perfect. Always on hand for questions and requests. Just BRILLIANT!

Verified reviewLocation was prime. Unbeatable sunset views from private rooftop terrace. Beautiful cave villa. Comfortable & spacious.
Bath towels weren’t replaced after removal by cleaners. Coffee capsules did not get replaced. Gramophones (which were their selling point) did not work. Athanasios served us but he fell short - could not book dinner venue even though he promised that the Sophia brand had connections to do so. He could not get gramophones fixed before we arrived. He insisted that even 5-star hotels only provide 2 coffee capsules per day. We were a family of 4 travelling together and booked the villa for 4 persons’ stay. We found an electric plug and adaptor in the kettle - and instead of taking responsibility for it, he told us that he was surprised and that housekeeping had no reason to put it there. Those were very strange excuses to us. It was a health hazard and a danger and he tried to explained it away as if we had made it all up.

However, we will review this policy to better accommodate the number of guests staying in the room, as well as their preferences and ages, to ensure a more comfortable experience in the future. Additionally, as part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we are implementing a green policy for towel usage, towels to be changed to be placed on the floor of the bath room as explained. Otherwise, we will leave them to help conserve water and energy. We regret the gramophone was not operational; a specialist was required but unavailable during your stay.Under short notice we did our best to assist you. in regards to your request to book a restaurant, as it was shared we do have the ability to assist in this regards when possible. On this specific occasion, once you expressed your preference in regards to the selected restaurant. We tried to reach out to the restaurant via calls multiple times and via email but had not heard back from them in time as once more your request was under short notice. The electric plug and adaptor in the kettle is most strange and concerning, and we are investigating this matter to prevent future occurrences. Verified reviewOne bedroom is ok but other bedroom. is worse entry and that entry was from kitchen upstair and stair are very small and uncomfortable and room was very small. Also they return in their iternary hot watet tub..but there was no hot water tub. Staff was very rude....i will not recommend anyone to stay there.

The unit has 2 bedrooms. The bedroom up top is a little difficult to get to because you have to use a ladder . Also upstairs there is really no place to put your stuff, it’s really just for sleeping.

Pool needed to be warmer. It was indoors in a cave.
