How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe had the most wonderful stay in the Lioyerma Windmill, where we had amazing views of the wonderful Oia sunset from the privacy of our private terrace. Manos and his team were kind and generous hosts and took care of our every need. Manos arranged our transfers and was waiting to welcome us and show us around, even though we arrived very late at night. Nothing was too much trouble and Manos was always checking that we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. When we weren't lounging in our private hot tub, our favourite place to be was at the wonderful pool bar, which was super fun and our lovely and super attentive hosts brought us delicious cocktails to the pool side. Our 6 year old says it is one of the best places he's ever been! We agree and will definitely stay longer on our next visit. Thank you so much xx

Verified reviewAmazing location and view. Host was very attentive to all of our needs and even pre-made breakfast on our last morning to accommodate an early flight. Sat in the hot tub and watched the sunset with a glass of wine - magical.
Just understand it’s a windmill and getting up and down between rooms is not easy. Also be aware that everyone wants a picture of your digs. It’s as close to feeling like being under the eye of the paparazzi as I will ever get.

Verified reviewManos was very kind. I was very satisfied with the unique experience of staying at a windmill. The location was also good, as I could walk around Oia in no time.
The Wi-Fi was hard to connect to. There were a lot of bugs in the private pool, which was disappointing as I was looking forward to it. This only happens on hot days.

Verified reviewQuirky little place to stay,with excellent views of the castle and the sunset. Comfortable facilities with plenty of space outside to sit, relax and enjoy the ambiance of Oia. Manos was attentive, and nothing was too much, from organising the taxi to collect us,recommending places to eat and organising breakfast etc. If you are looking for somewhere special to stay in Oia that what’s better than the windmill,that is an iconic feature along with the blue domes. Would love to visit again someday.

Verified reviewManos went above and BEYOND to make sure our stay was amazing. Having our own private balcony to watch the sunset was exactly why we booked here. While this is not a "5 star luxury resort" It is absolutely one of the most unique and coolest places to stay on the entire island. You are staying in a 200+ yr old windmill that everyone is stopping to take photos of. Breakfast was fabulous. Manos offered so many incredible suggestions. Did I mention the sunset was AMAZING! Didn't have to fight to find a place to park or stand and wait. Sat there with a bottle of wine on our own private balcony and took it all in.
Again, not 5 star luxury resort. But what it may have "lacked" it made up exponentially in how incredible the entire experience was. I mean...it still had AC, though not needed with the cool ocean breezes.

Being able to stay in a 200-year-old windmill is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  it has beautiful views, and is perfectly located with two outdoor seating areas to view the sunsets. Manos was very attentive and helpful. We appreciated him arranging for our transport from the airport.
The bed is very firm. For anyone with balance or mobility issues, this would be a very difficult stay due to the narrow and steep stairs.  But again, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it’s an “experience” stay.

The windmill is not easy to navigated and very cramped for 4 adults and only one bathroom that the people on the top bedroom could not use when others are sleeping. Also this room is not good for handicap people or people with back or knee issues and the description of the room should state this.

WiFi reception keeps dropping out particularly on the bottom floor.

Verified reviewBreakfast was amazing , the view was great however it was very windy when we went. swimming pool was good but it was too cold to use it in April.
My mum had an accident whilst going down the stairs and felt way too claustrophobic to stay for the night so we decided not to stay and only had breakfast the next day. I would not recommend this place to anyone who has mobility issues or is a bit bigger. Mind you, my mom never gets claustrophobic but because of the accident we did not feel it was safe enough to stay there.

First of all we have to start with the fact that when you book a place especially a windmill and you have already seen photos from its inside area you know what you will face regarding to the stairs,the rooms,etc due to its traditional architecture. Also as our future guests who are reading this,they need to know more about the real truth, the truth is that you had booked the Windmill for yourself, your husband and your little child as a Young family. Your mother and your father were staying in another property nearby that was more suitable for them(not stairs)and wasn't ours. So with taking under consideration all these it's not our responsibility that another guest(in your case, your mom) not "our guest "was in our property and injured. Also the next day that you were leaving we show your mom coming and she told me that everything was ok and she didn't seem to be injured at all and that "we will leave you a great review". Then after a few days we received a message from booking that you were requesting a refund for this reason(your mother that was not our guest),so we send them the proofs who was the real guest in our property and they didn't proceed to any refund. After booking's reply(that there is no reason for a refund) you made this review. Everyone who mighy read your review and our reply we hope that they will understand better. Kind regards

Verified reviewThe location of the accommodation was outstanding, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast service, which was conveniently delivered right to my room. It was a delightful way to start the day, enjoying a delicious meal while taking in the stunning scenery. As a guest at the property, I also appreciated the great service provided at the pool area, including reserved sun loungers. The staff were attentive and went above and beyond to ensure that guests had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Of course, one of the absolute highlights of staying at Lioyerma Windmill Villa & Pool was the phenomenal view of the famous sunset. It truly exceeded all expectations and left a lasting impression.
The firmness of the beds was not to our personal preference. I understand that different individuals have varying preferences when it comes to mattress firmness, but a slightly softer option, especially in the Sofa bed on the lower floor, could enhance the overall comfort level for guests and especially
