How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewElements of Caldera Suites is a beautiful hotel, the view over the Caldera is lovely, the hotel is finished to a high standard, it was kept extremely clean, and the staff were friendly. My partner and I stayed in for 5 nights in a superior room which had its own private balcony terrace area and hot tub which was accessible all times of the day - we were in the tub until midnight a couple of nights, it was a lovely place to relax. The furniture on the terrace was comfortable for sunbathing, and as the hotel only has 12 rooms, it was overall very quiet in the communal areas of the hotel. The bed was comfortable, there was ample area in the bedroom for clothes storage and a dressing area to get ready. The bathroom was finished to a high standard and the shower was great. The breakfast was nice; pastries, fruit salad, tomatoes, cheese, and a sweet treat - the portokalopita (orange syrup cake) was particularly delicious! The lunch and dinner food at the hotel was good, we ate dinner there one evening, and had lunch there 3 days during our stay, however the lunch isn't available until after 2:30pm. The area of Akrotiri is very quiet, there is a small village area with a couple of restaurants and shops which is about 20 mins walk from the hotel. Akrotiri is a very hilly area, and the hotel only has stairs down to the reception and communal pool area; so this might not be the best suited place for someone who has mobility needs. The only downside for us was that overnight, it seems the staff stayed/slept above the room we were in, which meant that from 11pm to 1am each night, we could hear a lot of noise from upstairs; furniture being moved, things being put away, people talking. This woke me up on three separate evenings. The fridge and air con in our room was also very noisy - every couple of hours, the fridge made a loud noise and the air con would click through the night.

Verified reviewThe room was clean, all modern and beautiful. The double shower was a first! The walkout to the beautiful pool with loungers was top shelf. This place is a hidden gem
We had asked in advance for an early check in....about 90 minutes early. This request was accepted on Booking.com via direct messaging. When we arrived the room was not ready and our check in was the original time of 3pm....although the hotel seemed somewhat half vacant. It was helpful that the staff spoke excellent English and arranged a car rental for us. They always smiled which was nice. The breakfast included was very good and the best espresso / coffee was here!

Verified reviewLuxurious place to stay. Location is quiet and for us was perfect but we had a car so could travel around the island easily. Gorgeous room of a high standard Can see the sunrise over the hill and set from the terrace.
Breakfast may have been better as a self serve with a wider choice/more variation

Verified reviewThe rooms were extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The hotel has a boutique feel to it. It is very quiet and relaxing. We preferred it to the other side of the island with the major towns. The staff worked very hard and were always friendly and available. We had a great experience and would certainly recommend it!
We stayed in one of the two rooms below the kitchen. The isolation from the roof isn’t great and therefore we were woken up every morning when they started to prepare for breakfast (moving chairs and tables). If it wasn’t for this minor issue I would have rated this hotel the best stay that I’ve ever had.

Verified reviewPeaceful, adults only. Felt luxury and exclusive. Breakfasts on your own terrace with the morning sun was wonderful. The restaurant was also well priced for lunch and dinner, with very generous portions. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Restaurant menu could use some extra “lighter” meal options, but other than that it’s fab.

Verified reviewBeautiful hotel, we booked the elements suite with pool and hot tub and loved it. One complaint and that is that it’s not a hot tub, it’s a cold tub. We complained and asked for the heat to be turned up but was told that 33 was the hottest. To cold to sit in so we couldnot use it. The staff are all nice especially leonardos who went out of his way to give us good service. The breakfast was amazing, delivered to our suite which we watched the sunrise every morning. We just ordered off the sheet the day before. The resturant was nice but menu very small. We hired a quad which was an excellent idea as hotel quite remote. Free parking. Would recommend this hotel if looking for peaceful getaway with nice views.
The hot tubs are not hot.

Verified reviewLovely hotel with great views, friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to help. Quiet and private and away from the busier tourist areas, although still plenty to do locally. Breakfast in the room every day for those who aren’t morning people. A few walkable restaurants in the proximity of the restaurant.
We were woken a few times by the generator that kicks in when there’s a power cut. Not really the hotels fault but slightly annoying nonetheless.

Verified reviewClean, big room with all the necessary amenities. Huge bathroom, nice jacuzzi, nice pool with confortable sunbeds. We had am early flight so they gave us some sandwiches and fruits to take the next morning to the airport because we couldn’t eat breakfast.
We couldn’t get used to the AC, it was not ideally situated so we felt the cold draught when we went to bed, even though we changed the temperature and the power of the AC.

Verified reviewThe view up here is very nice and the bar attendant was very helpful whenever we needed his assistance.
The receptionist called the room about 3 times within 10-15min between 11:00 and 11:30am because she wanted us to check out from the room. I do understand check out was 11am but to call 3 times within 30min, I felt it was too much because my husband and I had already been to 2 places on the island before going to this place and we didn’t face similar issues with checkout. Also, the receptionist wasn’t very fluent in English so she couldn’t assist us with a list of areas to explore around the suites even when we asked. You need a car to get to this place. My husband and I used a public bus to akrotiri village and decided to walk to the suite however, we gave up 10min into the walk and had to call the hotel to arrange a taxi to pick us up.

Verified reviewBreakfast was superb and well-prepared every morning. The facilities were very well-maintained by housekeeping and the front desk staff were very helpful - helped us arrange for a car rental with ease.
The pools for each villa isn't fully private and is only semi-private as guests who walked in front of your room to get to theirs will have to pass in front of your pool, unless you are staying at the very end.

Verified reviewImmaculately clean and lovely rooms, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of what you would like daily. Rooms were cleaned daily to an immaculate standard .The views were amazing.
Anyone staying here in my mind need transport to get around the island and to go to shops, but that wasn’t a downfall as hired quads and enjoyed coming back to a peaceful accommodation where you can relax and take in the views
