Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It was a nice stay. The host was very friendly and helpful. The location is right in middle of the island, so it is only convenient when we have a car. Living in cave is quite interesting experience.

AustraliaThere was no drinking water available on arrival. We were thirsty after travelling & it was a hot day so we were already dehydrated Had to find water which meant we had to go to a supermarket in kamari. We had to book a taxi to do this. My sister ended up with vertigo & was not well

United KingdomThe property is a traditional cave house. It was very clean and the courtyard provided a lovely space to relax after a day of adventuring! Aris is an exceptional host- arranging transfers to and from the property, making sure there was water in our room on the first night, and telling us where we could get dinner when our flight arrived late. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

ItalyIs in the middle of a old village, i won’t stay there more than one night. you have to walk a hundred meters so if you have trolleys is better. The breakfast is basic. The taxi for the place is incredible expensive but I think in all Santorini they are very expensive
The house is really nice, Greek style and warm ambience. It has a nice little courtyard for breakfast and chill out the room. The owner is very nice. Everything was clean.

GermanyYou do need a car or a scotter, because Kamari is round about 50 minutes to walk.
We enjoyed our stay at Bonita Santorini Cave and Aris is really awesome. He had always an open ear and helped us a lot. It is a quiet place and it was for us the perfect place, not touristy at all. Breakfast was also good.

United KingdomThe only downside was the internet inside the apartment was slow or hardly any signal but outside the apartment the internet worked fine. Also had to walk like 3mins to get to the property after parking the car but it wasn’t a big deal.
Property was very clean and beautiful. All the necessary equipments were available such as hairdryer, fridge, cooker, kitchen utensils etc and was able to cook few of our own meals without any problems. Jacuzzi was bonus.

NetherlandsIt was cool to stay inside of a cave house, however internet was so slow due to the house structure. The first two days we had no internet because of a storm. And it was almost impossible to get 5g/4g inside the cave house because it blocked the signal. Once the storm had passed we had wifi but it was still quite slow. Would recommend putting a booster inside the master bedroom for internet.
The host Aris was super accommodating, and always available for everything we needed, such as pick up, drop off, questions etc. He even upgraded us to the larger cave house with a bathtub which was so sweet. We all really enjoyed the bathtub, such a cool add on. Breakfast was good, wish there was maybe more options for scrambled eggs or omelettes rather than just hard boiled eggs.

United StatesThe only drawback was, since it is back off the main street, there were no restaurants in the immediate are. Each one recommended was about a 20–30-minute walk, which is really no problem - there were sidewalks along the main road. We had no car and after the long ferry ride, we were ready for some exercise. But if you do have a car, then the only issue would be parking. There didn't seem to be any by the units, so you'd have to still walk up the lane to the rooms. Just wanted to give a heads up on that!
This was a unique apartment in that it is actually in a cave, built into the side of a hillside. One bedroom, the single bed, was on a lower level from the main rooms. I was worried that, being no windows nor an air conditioning unit down there, my brother would have no cool air. But he said it was fine, so I guess the "cave system" worked well! Our host, Aris, was most accommodating and answered all our questions. He picked us up at the port when our ferry came in, showed us around the unit, and gave some suggestions for restaurants. He also served us breakfast in the morning out on the patio - what a lovely way to start the day! He was disappointed we weren't staying longer than one night, but we had arrived a day earlier than originally planned, and had another apartment already booked. He offered to drive us to the next village and delivered us right to the door. Above and beyond hospitality! If you're in the need for an affordable lodging, set back off the main streets, and close to Kamari Beach, this is for you. I only wish we had had more time to explore the area. There were some interesting wineries and breweries close by.

United StatesIt is a cave as it says in the listing so there are no windows or any ventilation unless you keep the front door open when the weather is decent. The door opens to a common area shared by the next apartment so no privacy. The lobby/terrace is common for 2 more apartments as well as the lounge chairs, tables and kitchen, etc. The access to the cave is through a cobbled road (about a 5-7min walk that is uphill from where you leave the vehicle), so if you have long walking trouble, or if you travel with large suitcases, or if you travel with kids' strollers, etc, it becomes very heavy and at the risk of carrying your suitcase and strollers, etc. Also in the cobbled road, there are dogs and one of the yellow dogs is aggressive so be careful. For Breakfast, you get a list of things such as bread, coffee, cakes, juices, etc(no scrambled eggs) so I consider it as fair and host orders and bring them at the time you mention to the lobby for you. The water is not drinkable so you will need to buy your own water bottles.
The location is very close to Kamari beach but you will need a car to move around as there is no easy way to get to anything, except a public bus. The rooms were clean and carved into the hill face. The whole area was isolated and steeped in local history while still being minutes from the beach and minutes from the bustle of the rim. The amenities are basic. The amenities are basic. Aris runs the place well on limited budget and hence a very good low budget accommodation, so you get that and nothing more.
