How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewRating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I had a wonderful stay at Artemis Apartments in Zakynthos! The apartment was very clean, spacious, and had a small kitchen area which was perfect for our needs. We had a lovely sea view from our room, and the housekeeping staff made sure our room was cleaned every single day. The staff were extremely friendly, always smiling, and ready to help with anything we needed. They really made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. One of the highlights for me and my child was the pool area — it was fantastic! It included a swimming section, a jacuzzi, and a safe toddler area with shallow water where kids could play. Zakynthos is a beautiful island with amazing beaches, crystal-clear water, and delicious food. I will definitely return — and when I do, I’ll absolutely stay again at Artemis Apartments. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewThe host and staff were very nice and friendly however as they could not speak English, it was extremely hard to communicate our issues with the room.
The bed was lumpy and very uncomfortable, we had little to no hot water, no sharp knives for food prep, no coffee or tea etc, no cooking oils. Host unable to communicate on phone when we were arrived at bus stop due to language barrier and did not answer my emails before I arrived re: transport to location, therefore we had to walk 2 1/2 klms with suitcases on roads unsafe for walking in the heat of the day. We normally don’t mind walking places on our holiday if we have central location, however, for this destination definitely needed to hire a car

Verified reviewOur stay at Artemis Apartments was perfect. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable. The staff was really nice, friendly, they cleaned our rooms every day, offered us umbrellas for the beach. Also the property was beautiful. We definitely enjoyed having a pool at our accommodation. Would definitely recommend Artemis for anyone looking for a place to stay in Zakynthos.

We didn't have soap. The rules of the owner are respected just by some people: for example a large group of italiens over 60yo behaved (all our week there) like they were alone at the hotel, making noise at night or using the pool (which should be closed after 9 p.m). We don't believe that the owner didn't hear or saw them...but...maybe she likes them too much. The location is too remote. You need the car for every move you make.

Verified reviewThe apartments were very clean. We stayed for 2 nights in a superior room and another 2 nights in a standard room. We booked standard but there was a mix-up with the bookings and that's how we ended for 2 nights in superior room (no extra charge). The personnel was very friendly as well. The superior room looked very good and comfortable.
The standard room was a bit more old-fasioned than you would think from the photos. I believe that with just a little bit of money and attention to a few minor details could look & feel more pleasant. If the property wouldn't have a pool, the cost of these rooms in particular wouldn't be justified. As for the location, it's a bit remote from the rest of the "fun", but still 1km to the nearest supermarket and pretty close to some restaurants if you have a car or scooter like we did.

Verified reviewThe apartment was very modern and clean, in particular the bed was quite comfortable. There is also a very nice pool just outside of the rooms. It is a bit further from the center of Zante but it was fine for us since we stayed just for one night. They were also very willing to inform us as soon as a room was ready for us, because we asked if we could check in a little earlier, quick and easy communication.
The only thing I would like to mention is the absence of a window net. It was windy and not at all hot in this location, despite it being end of July, but we had to use the air-conditioner, as it is only natural that there are mosquitoes and they easily get into the room with open windows and doors.
