How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I been staying here for years on my annual trips to Athens. It's my first preference when available. Location is excellent and good selection for breakfast. You will also find a bottle of water in the fridge. I've been all over Greece, I have yet to encounter this small service elsewhere.

Not too much
Location was unbeatable, close to Syntagma, Plaka, Monastiraki. Staff were very helpful especially front desk and very accommodating. Great value for money with generous breakfast and very clean and comfortable rooms.

Arethusa hotel is superbly located at the heart of Athens. Every major attraction in the city is within walking distance - the Acropolis, Agora, Plaka, Syntagma Square. The staff is very courteous and cleanliness is impeccable. Rooms are spacious with a good view of the bustling city. Breakfast includes a wide variety of options and is nutritious, hearty, and delicious. Overall, a very enjoyable stay - I strongly recommend Arethusa hotel while in Athens!

The bathroom was small but functional and clean.
Reception was welcoming and helpful, the room was nice and cool, the bed was comfortable. Location was excellent; excellent restaurants close by (I recommend Tzitzikas), just 5 minutes from both the airport Metro and bus and virtually on the Syntagma Square.

Bathroom in our room was small and it was difficult to close the door once you were in the bathroom (as it was opening inside). But the shower was ok, not very small. I guess there were other rooms with larger bathrooms, but maybe they were expensive or intended for more people in the room; while our room was for 2. Breakfast was so-so, choice was very basic. You could find something to eat, but without much varieties.
Hotel was clean with great location. Reception staff was welcoming and very helpful; they will not hesitate to help you if you'll have any questions about visiting some places in the city and will advice you the best options.

Great location amongst restaurants,cafes, shops & very close-one block to Syntagma Train Station. One small block from Ermou Street - pedestrian street with great choices of shops. Hotel has a staffed Reception, pleasant breakfast room with healthy food options & clean rooms. Would stay again

Nothing at all!
Best location for excursions to any part of historic Athens, and for a myriad restaurants right there or within 5 minutes walk. Fantastic view of the Acropolis from the rooftop terrace. Excellent hot breakfast.

Not a single clothing iron in the entire hotel! A hotel of this quality should have one in every room. At a minimum, there should be a few to borrow. Not having one is such a pain and adding them to the rooms is such an inexpensive upgrade.
Got a free upgrade to a room with an Acropolis view. Top floor rooms are newly renovated and nicer.

No clothing irons in the entire hotel! How hard is it to spend 100€ on a few irons?! If you stay at this hotel you'll never be able to wear your nice linen shirts to dinner.
Fantastic location near the metro. Good restaurants nearby. Area has less tourist overwhelm but is still walking distance to everything. Comfortable rooms, decent breakfast.
