How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

My friend and I had really enjoyed staying at the hotel. In particular the location to the beach and restaurants, along with the friendliness of the hotel owner.

Hotel Aegean is a fantastic locally owned and run hotel. Friendly and helpful each day. The location is outstanding opposite the beach, peaceful away from the party locations and bus stops outside entrance. Plenty of fabulous restaurants within walking distance. Thank you Hotel Aegean A+++

Could have been a bit cleaner but overall pretty good
Loved the location and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Right along the beach. And make sure all our rooms were beside eachother

Nothing to fault!
Couldn’t fault. So authentic. The owner was simply amazing. He arranged all shuttles for us at very cheap prices. The bar and pool area were beautiful.

Classic small Greek family run hotel. Spotlessly clean (cleaned daily), super friendly and helpful host, Nikos. Great to have a bar on site with breakfast if you wish, two lovely pools and a minibus ready to take you anywhere for a very reasonable price. Also, slap bang in the middle of local restaurants but not at all noisy. Bus stops and beach literally just over the road. Can’t fault it!!! Thank you team Aegeon hotel 👏

What a fantastic stay! The location on the beach was incredible and super accessible, especially with the Hotel's car service. The pool was lovely and the staff had great recommendations for throughout Ios and even helped us get a dinner rec. A fantastic family-owned place, cannot recommend enough!

We had a fantastic experience at this lovely family-run hotel. The location couldn’t be better — just steps from the beach and an easy walk to great restaurants and bars. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hosts were incredibly warm and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. You can really feel the care they put into running the place, which made our time there feel extra special. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ios — we would definitely stay here again!

Could have been water available in room
The family that owns this property went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. They picked me up and dropped me off at port. They organized my atv. Couldn’t have been more helpful

Was not one bad word to speak about the accomodation, was honestly one of the best stays i’ve been apart of my europe trip.
I throughly enjoyed my stay at this accommodation with my friends the location was perfect and the facilities were perfectly suited for what we needed and will definitely be recommending to family and friends. What really stood out, however, was the family running the accommodation. The hosts were incredibly attentive and eager to ensure that my stay was perfect. They provided helpful tips on local attractions and even arranged a few experiences for me that I wouldn't have discovered on my own.

Our room was facing a garden area which needed some upkeep.
The swimming pool, location to beach - just across the road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. At this time of year some of the nearby restaurants were closing for the season but still many to choose from nearby and in the Chora. Costas gave us some great recommendations.

Nothing, it was perfect.
Nikos and his son Costas were brilliant. So friendly and attentive. The hotel is in a great location, right on the beach with a lovely pool and bar. The rooms were comfortable and clean. If we came back to Ios we would definitely stay here again.

The host Nikos and his son were so lovely and helpful and made us feel like we were part of the family. The hotel is in a fabulous location, with quality restaurants close by and the bus stop to town just outside the hotel entrance.

We were celebrating our engagement, they made it extra special with a prosecco and romantic set up with petals and roses. Amazing!!! Location amazing for that we wanted Airport transfer was really easy
