Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This is the best place where I stayed in Guadeloupe and one of the best worldwide. The place is absolutely charming, giving a real authenticity and comfort. If I had a house in Guadeloupe, I would make it look like the houses of Rêve et Alizé. On top of it, the owners Anne and Xavier were extra nice and gave us really valuable information about the area. Add to this an amazing garden, the intimate pool, the private river and natural pool, Rêve et Alizé is a gem that is over the top of all other ecolodge in Guadeloupe.

United KingdomIncredible garden - heaven of peace, birds & iguanas with a waterfall. Tradional Kaz, the property has everything you need including a swimming pool. The location is perfect with ease of access to local supermarket, seaside and the popular turtle beach of Petite Malendure and the reserve cousteau at 8-10 min drive and 30-40 minutes walk! The owner is super friendly and accomodating. An excellent stay!

GermanyAbsolute dream, pure jungle on your doorstep, amazing hardwood cottage, peeper frogs and hummingbirds everywhere. Cool in the evening because of the jungle. Good mosquito nets, no problem to sleep at all. Love not having windows. Xavier is a nature fan and showed us around, including to the private waterfall and pool, as well as the main pool which still feels like you are in the jungle anyway. Whole family loved it

CanadaHard to walk to the beach. A car is absolutely necessary but we found that it is like that almost all over Guadeloupe.
Lovely cottage set in an expansive garden. The pool is well kept . Very clean with a lot of attention to detail that shows pride of ownership. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. You can walk to some of the grocery stores and restaurants. There is so much vegetation that you barely see the other guests. The mosquitos were manageable.

United KingdomMy only problem with this place is that it's very small for two people. I understand that it cannot be made larger, but maybe some space may be freed up by removing various unnecessary items from the room/kitchen, so that the guests have space for their luggage and other items.
We loved the privacy and the nature around the cottage - birds, gekkos and lizards are amazing, and the sound of wind and rain makes you feel you are camping (well, glamping). Everything is very clean, beds are wide and good (proper double, not the french double nonsense) and there are a lot of items in the kitchen etc - we were not short of anything. Obvs you need a car, but there is private parking. Plenty of restaurants, beach shops, fruit shacks walking distance away.

Czech RepublicAmazing private villa in the beautiful garden, secluded but just a short walk from all the restaurants, shops and beach. Anne and Xavier gave us an incredibly warm welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful while respecting privacy of our home-for-the-week. We will be recommending and hopefully returning to Rêve Et Alizé.

SwitzerlandWe had a wonderful time in paradise! The house we rented was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and very well equipped - especially the outdoor kitchen. We loved every detail. On the property itself, we could choose between taking a swim in a small waterfall or in the jungle pool that was very well maintained. The owner provided us a great welcome with a fruity surprise in the fridge and great recommendations for eating out. We would definitely love to come back!

United KingdomThe resort is built in a non-intrusive, eco-friendly way, which on balance is a very good thing. But this also means that the pathways to the cottages are less than ideal for carrying a suitcase, especially since we got a cottage uphill. In addition, the separation between the toilet, the shower, and the bedroom was less than clear-cut (and so was the separation between the inside and the outside, which is part of the experience but may initially come as a surprise). The location of the resort also means a steep 5-minute climb from the coastline (if you're walking). The surrounding area feels reasonably safe and there is some lighting at night, but it certainly did not feel as secure as a gated retreat once we started coming up to the cottage in the dark. The closest amenities are also more than a stone's throw away, with the closest supermarket around 15 minutes away and the closest beach, Malendure, around 30 minutes away on foot. There is another (pebble) beach that the host told us about which is a tad closer and more private, but it also involved hiking up and downhill through a forest. But as long as you prefer being close to nature to the extra comforts of a 5-star hotel, all of these things are an easy trade-off.
The resort is basically inside the national park, which is very enjoyable if you love nature. We got to walk through the tropical forest on the way to our private cottage; we got to feed the small birds (and lizards) on our private terrace every morning; we got the option to hike a few minutes to a little private waterfall where we could swim in fresh water (the water is, of course, colder than in the sea). There was also a well-equipped kitchen, a partly pre-stocked fridge and some complementary alcohol to get is up and running on our first night. Other perks included surprisingly good WiFi, a pool, and as much privacy as you can reasonably expect in a resort. The hosts were welcoming and spoke English, which was a win.

MartiniqueThe gardening a bit too early in the morning nearby but that's a local ritual that nobody can do much about, you'll just have to use the hamac for a siesta in the afternoon :-)
The welcome, the gardens, visit to the river with Xavier and Bounty the dog, the relaxed atmosphere, the pool, the friendly people in the nearby village

AustriaNothing! we had a hard time leaving.
The guest houses are set in a beautiful tropical garden with a pool area. The property has its own access to a natural swimming area in the river. From the hammock on our Veranda we could watch the banana quits and 2 different kinds of hummingbirds. The setting of each house affords the guests complete privacy. The owners welcomed us with Planters Punch and fresh fruit. They were always available and ready to help or answer questions. Their restaurant recommendations were very good ( esp the Sunset B!)
