How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA good little hotel in a great location, just by the beach. Parking was a bonus. The bar/ restaurant provided good food throughout the day. Our room was basic but had all we needed.

Verified reviewIt’s on the beach
Noise and false promises. Our room was a cell with no view other than the toilet block for the restaurant next to our ground floor room. Music started (loud) at 8.00 and didn’t end until 22.30 one evening and well after midnight the next. We were warned about the music to be played on two evenings but not the all day and certainly not the late night. Our room does not feature in the photos, hence the sense of false promises and inaccuracies in the description. The photos show the position and proximity of the toilets and our window with the shutters that don’t open. No daylight. It was so bad that we booked an alternative hotel for the third night’s stay in the middle of the second night. The owner did apologise and surprisingly refunded our third night. It’s such a shame as the hotel’s position and open air feel is lovely.

Verified review- Location right at the beach - good cleaning lady, friendly staff - restaurant in the hotel - parking opportunity - grocery shops, great restaurants and gelateria close by
- needs thorough cleaning or replacement of used things (wood in the shower, mold in the shower, mosquito net had holes and smelled weird, the occasional cockroach) - AC was broken for 3 nights, but once available they upgraded us to a better room for 2 nights until the AC was fixed - extremely loud music in the evening, at least they stop around 10 pm

Verified reviewThe location of this place is amazing - in like 20 sec you are on the beach, from your room. It's a decent place for a couple of days. But expect a modest accomodation.

At check in and check out nobody was there. Unfriendly and unpolite owner. No single word of English is spoken or understood. No breakfast, restaurant wad closed until 5pm. Very loud music from the restaurant all evening long. Rooms are not soundproof, dirty and outdated. No toilet paper in the room. Do NOT stay here!!!

Verified reviewA nice restaurant and our sea view room was beautiful.
We booked a sea view room for our 3 night stay many months before our trip. We received a message a few nights before our stay to inform us that the room we had booked and paid for was no longer available for our whole stay. We received a refund but this did not compensate for the quality of room we were down graded to and we didn't receive the complimentary cocktails and tapas we were offered.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is perfect, right onto the beach. Nice bar/restaurant with good food. Easy parking.
The room was quite small and it had no curtains, also there was some noise from the bar at night.

Verified reviewGreat location; good bar & restaurant; atmospheric music; quirky
Room was badly in need of a makeover; very shabby bathroom; dodgy dangerous electrics; odd that hotel is closed on Mondays so we were not welcomed upon our arrival and instead were confronted with spooky darkness.

Verified reviewWe had a sea view room and it was amazing; very private balcony overlooking the ocean. Big room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable bed. The breakfast was fresh fruit and bread and croissants every morning with plenty of coffee and fruit juice too. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and either spoke excellent English or were very patient with my pigeon French and Google Translate! Location was superb - directly onto the sea, but rocks where the hotel is. Within 50m you are on sand and the beach is beautiful. We had dinner in the hotel a couple of times and the food was great quality and quantity. The restaurant was always busy, which is a great sign. They had live music Friday, Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtime - it was a vibrant and fun atmosphere without being overly loud or intrusive. Loved it and could have stayed longer than the 5 nights we were there.
It closes on a Monday - you still get breakfast, but then it is closed. I fully appreciate the staff need a break though, so no major issue, just something to be aware of if you are going.

Verified reviewThe locations is outstanding. Breakfast was great for us each morning. It is a pretty good place to explore the island but the trip to Basse Terre attractions is pretty far (1.5 hours drive to most) Room was wonderful as we were in room 2 with an ocean front balcony. Internet is spotty but we just used the island service with our Iphone and that was fine. Overall a great hotel and I would stay there again for sure.
The only thing that we might have changed is staying on Basse Terre one or two days. It is a very long car ride to volcano, waterfalls and other attractions. But this is a great location for the beach which we did 5 days.

Verified reviewGreat location. That's it.
At least double the price it should be for the facilities. Very run down. Not clean. Incredibly loud with live music every night until 11pm plus. Sat for 20 minutes and never got service so I eventually gave up. Room dirty, someone else's soap left in the shower. Someone else's hair clip on the floor. Shower is open so water pours onto the floor. Mirror, walls etc old and dirty. There is a mini fridge which is barely cold. I had to keep requesting ice from the bar to cool anything. The bar manager and maintenance man were nice, but couldn't ever get service so I went out and got my own stuff.
