Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere were no fridge, microwave or kettle in the room. We were told the fridge is an extra charge to rent. I connected to their WiFi and the Internet was unavailable.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are restaurants next door and on the way to the beach. The hotel property is clean and quiet. I did not use the pool but it looked clean too. Breakfast was simple but it's set up buffet style so you can eat until satisfied. The room was spacious.

NetherlandsIt's basic comfort don't expect luxury. Only breakfast could use some improvements. Specifically the bread is not suitable. Simple improvement can be made.
It's a basic hotel, really enjoyed my stay! Everything was clean and good organised for Gambian principles.

GambiaThe bathroom is soooo small and the sink area had no drainage making the whole bathroom messy, The first room I was given had stock cigarettes smell which was disgusting to me but the other room I was changed into smells nice. I enjoyed swimming in the pool but u just HVE TO MARK the pool for its depths and height. Thats very necessary and important.
The staff right from the reception to the pool staff. The lady at the pool bar and the breakfast was better than most luxurious hotels I've visited

United Kingdomunfortunately Breakfast was pretty awful, and the food options never varied - egg, beans, noodles, The Toaster didn’t work properly from day 1 and the lever had to be held down by someone.it wasn’t working at all by day 14. It was hard to to believe that they would not buy a new toaster. Lunch and dinner options were really good though and so we missed breakfast most days and paid for a lunch instead (better to go room only). We had paid for a ‘deluxe king size’ for the self catering option, which was at best a 2 star. The kitchenette was dark and very basic, (think glamping) it contained a microwave, fridge, kettle, leaking sink (no plug), dirty hot plate and 1 pan/spoon (also dirty), and basic plates and cutlery. Nothing was provided to wash up with., no soap or a cloth. The Under counter area were 3 empty spaces with door fronts but the fridge was plonked in front of it all. The microwave had to be moved onto the fridge to use as there was no plug socket beside it. Do not expect tea/coffee/milk etc. Maintenance standards were poor throughout areas of the hotel, leaking taps, cracked tiles, broken concrete paths, tired old equipment, daily towel shortage, (stained towels returned damp), dodgy electric wall sockets by the bed, none near a mirror, no hairdryer, poor lighting so room was very dark, leaking toilet which is not fully secure to the ground so moved when sitting on it. Electrics went off constantly along with the Air con (thank goodness for our own rechargeable fans), and the generator didn’t always kick in immediately, water not always available in the taps but this was temporary. WiFi was great some days but terrible others, affected by electrics and guest usage I suspect. The room had a safe which didn’t open but we had no security issues/concerns during our stay. the wardrobes locked however with keys. Tv channels minimal but you get BBC news and one other English speaking option.
The location was good. The gardens and design was quite attractive and had beautiful flowers. The staff were very cheerful, helpful and attentive. The pool size, layout and different seating options were nice. The Hotel was very reliable for airport collection/drop off and they helped to arrange excursions with local tour operators. Great communications prior to arrival with quick response to questions. Food menu was varied and good quality in the Restaurant. No complaints for the chef’s cooking ability. Very convenient taxi and money exchange service outside, 5 minutes to the beach, some great restaurants either side which we visited repeatedly plus mini market for water etc. There was some weekly entertainment which was enjoyable (this may become more frequent as the season kicks in), so the complex was relatively quiet and tranquil and there was no trouble from noisy or unruly guests. A really calm and relaxing atmosphere which we appreciated.

United KingdomSoap and towels are provided, but you need to bring your own other toiletries. Not a big deal as the hotel is overall very good value, and you can pop to the Express shop.
Nice place to stay and convenient for the beach. The pool is good and the staff are lovely. There’s a supermarket and restaurants nearby. It is a tourist area so people will approach to sell things etc.

NorwayThe facilities are totally worn out: First I was given a room with a water leakage. Then I could choose between two other rooms; one full og ants in the bathroom and bed, the other with bedside lamps broken and spikes sticking out of the bed. Then I was shown a fourth room; bedbugs under the mattress. Finally I was given a room that «worked» but with the patio towards a construction site. The common/pool area is worn and needs upgrading, and it’s not very pleasant anyway. The price for booking via booking.com is ridiculously high. When I cheeked out I moved across the street to bamboo village resort and paid less per night there as a walk in. The village resort was 5 star compared to the garden hotel. Will never return.
The staff were generally nice.
