How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewClose to main street. Also not too noisy considering how close to town it is. Large living room excellent air conditioning. Responses from owners to questions was quick
No welcome pack which would have made finding where to find stuff like supermarkets and rubbish disposal area so much easier. Mattresses on 2nd bed and the fold down sofa were quite uncomfortable. Two of the duvets weirdly smelled of cigarette smoke until we aired them. Air con in smaller bedroom was far too cold when comfy in rest of the flat.

Verified reviewThe Location and size of the apartment was perfect, it was clean, there was plenty of linen and towels and the wardrobe space was ample for a family. The rental company was extremely responsive and gave accurate, clear directions to find the property. We would 100% stay here again if we returned to Gib.
The twin beds in the second room were very noisy, they are not level to the ground so every time one of the children turned the metal beds made quite a noise. This being said all beds were very comfortable and clean. The Information book was missing, we didn’t find out till the last day that there should be one so we had to do a lot of guess work. For example where the refuse bins were for the property.

Verified reviewOur second stay at this accomodation. Great location for exploring Gibraltar - set in centre of town. Good sized apartment equipped with most things you need for your stay. Very well kept accommodation and the beds were very comfortable too. Would definitely also think of booking same apartment for any future stays in Gibraltar.
All the rooms only have windows onto a shaded centre courtyard which gave a dark/dim appearance in the apartment. Not a problem - just an observation. The water fountain on the ground floor can get slightly annoying at night with the windows open.

Verified reviewGood location.
No door on en-suite bathroom. Whilst beds were ok for our party of 4 adults, I would not recommend this property for more than 4. Sofa bed is not suitable for more than one person and the other bed in the twin room needs to be pulled out, leaving no space. Probably ok for small children. This property is in the second floor, with no lift and poor lighting on the stairs

Verified reviewLoved the central location, hence why we booked it, in a quirky building, aptly named
Several things could be improved to make the stay first rate. I was sent the address and code to collect the keys. What i was not told was there were 6 apartments, plus many key locks at the front. It was trial and error until one opened, and even then I was never 100% this was the correct property? On returning to the UK I received an email which told me how to access the property and also what to do with the rubbish. Both these instructions came too late. Both bathrooms have large areas of black cold upon the ceiling, and good clean and fresh coat of paint is needed. The opening the front door to exit the property, we all found this extremely difficult, especially my children. The key code lock has to be grasped and pull firmly to open the door. A separate handle would solve this problem. Many of the standard lamps which adored the apartment had a 2 pin European plug and not the 3 pin Uk one, so these could never be used, although some of them were broken and held together with sellotape. The kitchen area was wonderful, spacious and obviously very new but what was the most disappointing thing was finding only one large saucepan to cook with. No peeler and other useful kitchen utensils. As a family apartment we did expect more to be available. I did email your office from the property as it was after your working hours, but never received a reply. Only two dishwasher tablets for a 4 day, 3 night stay! Happy to send photos, privately as I don't believe you would like them shared.

Verified reviewThe flat was very spacious and clean , with comfortable beds. The kitchen was big with incorporated dining area. Enjoyed watching the TV which had all the apps including Netflix and YouTube. Showers were good size with lots of hot water and good pressure . We felt very comfortable there and would return if in Gibraltar again. Location is great for exploring the city as it is near main street and square and within walking distance to the boardwalk restaurants by the water.
Not much , except needed a few more pots in the kitchen as there was only one big one . The coffee table in the lounge area being glass was a bit of a hazard as we walked into it a few times because we couldn't really see it . The sofa in the lounge is not comfortable

Verified reviewThe apartment was in walking distance of attractions and centre Gibraltar. Very helpful and responsive to questions on arrival. Bed was super comfy.
A little noisy - loud music being played from one of the other apartments in the courtyard but as it was during the day not a big issue.
