How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBrilliant location! Bars/ restaurants, main square/ shops and airport all within walking distance. The roof top pool area was beautiful and very peaceful, as was the building. The host was also very helpful and responsive when answering questions.
The is some building work in the area but all part of the growing developments in Gibralter and it didn't affect our stay.

Verified reviewThe location is fabulous . Two minute walk to the marina and only 5 minute walk to square. James the host was informative. Roof top pool was lovely
The toilet was dirty . The bed sheet was ripped. The shower tray filled with water as soon as used and was slow to drain. The facilities were OK for the price paid but not what you would expect.

Regarding the facilities, I’m not sure how they disappointed you. There’s a Sauna, Turkish bath, hot & cold jacuzzi, jacuzzi pool with jets, bigger pool, Indoor heated jacuzzi and another small pool. Most top hotels don’t even have all these facilities in one place. I’ll take the rest of your feedback on board.

Verified reviewLocation, near to Casemates Square and Marina for good choice of pubs and restaurants. Also great pools, jacuzzis, sunbeds and cabanas on roof. Good view of the runway.
Bedroom area very compact, with small wardrobe. Only one mirror in the apartment, that’s in the bathroom.

it stated on the advert you had a private pool and hot tub. This is not strictly true as you have access to a pool and a hot tub but on the 18th floor and is open to other people. So I wouldn't advertise it as private.

Little flies in the room. Got bite about 10 times. Dont know were they were coming from as all doors were closed.
Thanks for the review Gary. Some of the points which I think are quite dishonest. The facilities in the building are the best in Gibraltar, hot jacuzzi, sauna, Spa area, pools, Turkish bath and you seemed to have rated it a 2.5/10. I also allowed you to drop off your luggage very early and was as polite as possible. You rated the staff as a 5/10. Not sure honestly how I could have improved that.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect, really close to the airport and easily walkable (thanks to host for directions). It was also very close to the main town with several bus stops close by, as well as a variety of shops and eating places - sadly many were closed due to the season. Apartment was compact and comfortable with balcony view of airport. Bed was comfortable with clean linen. Shower was powerful. TV had lots of stations available and wifi speed was good. I didn't cook in the apartment but the kitchen was well equipped including a huge (very clean) fridge/freezer. There was also a washing machine (didn't use) and good hair dryer. Plenty of towels and toilet roll! The host, James, was really friendly with all comms before and during my stay, supplying lots of helpful information and good tips for my visit. Check in and out was simple, and I felt completely safe in and around the building.
I travelled out of season so the outdoor pools weren't in use. Whilst the majority of the apartment was clean and tidy, the bathroom would (IMHO) benefit from a really deep clean and upgrade on the sealant especially on the shower cubicle. Clearer information on payment process ahead of the visit would also have been useful to me. A couple of minor things ... there was no plug for the bathroom sink, nor back on the TV remote. The wardrobe and drawers within were hard to use due to proximity of the bedside cabinet, however there was hanging space/hooks on the utility cupboard door.

Verified reviewThe location of the appt was excellent and easy reach from the airport .also restaurants and shopping were also close by which we knew from previous visit to Gib .
Lack of contact from host to check our status, lack of cutlery and crockery or inventory to check ( only 2 of every cutlery 0nly 1 teaspoon) no television only CNN news as smart card was not registered. No information about local Thing’s such as buses , emergency numbers ,taxi numbers or any other thing of interest ! The sofa in the lounge Was so low I had trouble to stand up ! A small table and 2 chairs would be of much better use . It’s really a shame Because with a bit more attention to detail it could be a little Gem .
Hello Eileen, thanks for the feedback. You’re fully grown adults who have rented an apartment. I don't need to check on you to see if you're okay. If my guests have any issues, they raise it to me and I deal with it quite quickly. If you would have mentioned that extra cutlery was needed I would have provided it for you no problem. Regarding the TV as well, there's 30 channels that are locked and there's 250 channels that are unlocked. A quick scroll past the first channels you would have realised the other 200+ free channels. A quick message would have solved this. Regarding local numbers, a quick google search will provide you with the information. Alternatively you can always message me and I’ll be happy to help, but you didn’t. Thank you for the review but some communication from your part would have improved your stay a great deal.

Worst check in i have ever experienced kept waiting for 35min outside, had to wait until another guest came to access properly no instructions on anything in the property and talking to another guest he pointed out we would need swipe cards to gain access to building. Security guy was exceptional let us in the parking area whilst we unloaded and sorted pass keys. Once we had sorted this out the owner who quote was busy then left a voicemail with key instructions , advice get yourself welcome pack sorted with basic instructions in at least!

You kept delaying your arrival due to your Sat Nav. I run several apartments and as you may understand I can’t be waiting for you 1-2 hours in the entrance whilst you arrive. The security was delaying with a flood and came down to open within 10 mins. Upon check out, you took more than 30-40 mins to leave the apartment. When I advised you that the cleaner had a tight schedule to clean the apartment, you started throwing the bedding out to the corridor to the cleaner. An extreme lack of respect towards the woman. Shame on you!

Verified reviewThe apartment is beautiful with amazing views of the airport and the water. It had all the necessities required for our 3 night stay. The bed is extremely comfortable. Although we couldn't use the pools (due to close season) and we didn't use the jacuzzi, we checked these areas out and these were lovely. We loved the roof top view of Gibraltar and the airport too. We were close to Ocean Village and Casemates Square so we were central to everything we needed. James was very friendly and answered all questions quickly throughout our stay.
A mirror outside the bathroom would have been useful. We spent time relaxing in the apartment so would have liked a more comfortable sofa.
