How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe property was very clean and well located between Main Street, Beaches and Airport. There was a welcome pack which included a lot of useful information about the apartment and Gibraltar. It included restaurant recommendations (there is an Italian place just across the road that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner- definitely recommend the French toast! The host Michael was very available/ communicative throughout the trip via WhatsApp to give advice on what to see / useful tips as well as free pick-up from the airport (thank you to Peter!) Thank you Michael for your hospitality and would definitely recommend staying here if it’s your first time in Gib.
There is a garage nearby which can be nosy during the day as they are working. We were out mostly during the day but worth noting if you are wanting a little more quiet during these hours.

Verified reviewThe houseowner Michael is very kind and helpful. His wife receipted me on day 1; she is also a very nice lady. Michael brought me around Gibraltar at a very affordable rate and even brought me to the most southern tip.

Verified reviewThe apartment was very clean and well equipped with all you could need, including a nice bottle of wine, tea, coffee and more. This was unexpected and very welcomed. Michael collected us from the airport and showed us around the local area, before then taking us to the property. It’s not often someone goes above and beyond these days but Michael did with us here. Small convenience store opposite which is very handy.
Nothing to dislike, good cost and good location. Close to the beach, marina and Casemates. Shops nearby and a very good Foodco medium sized supermarket at the marina, which saves you having to go all the way to Morrisons.

Verified reviewExcellent service from initial contact to the last. Michael picked us up from and returned as to the airport. Returning items we’d left in the apartment to us before our flight!😂 Helpful but unobtrusive, perfect balance. Apartment was spotless, walkable to the main square and on a well served bus route. Nice touches re milk in the fridge when you arrive. Really excellent host!

Verified reviewThe property was clean and bright with loads of room to move around. It has everything you could possibly need. We know this as we had a flight cancelled staying in a hotel beforehand . During our 2 night stay there was nothing at all I found myself needing. Michael really did go the extra mile for us after our flight ordeal and a late night booking, he even brought us milk so we could have a coffee…. GREAT place GREAT guy !! We would 100% recommend anyone to stay !
Nothing at all …. It was perfect !!

Verified reviewI had a wonderful time staying in this flat! There was plenty of room and the whole place felt nice and bright with a lovely view of the rock when the sun rose. The owner Micheal was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any questions. But the it was the little touches that really made this stay stand out to us, firstly we were collected from the airport for free and upon arriving at the flat were greeted by two cold beers and a bottle of white wine in the fridge! Absolutely perfect way to unwind after an early start travelling. Couldn’t recommend the place more and would seriously consider staying there again if I needed to return to Gibraltar.

Verified reviewGreat location right under the rock so there are amazing views at night of the rock. Lovely to sit on the balcony and admire the view (even in the winter when we visited) Also an ideal location in terms of getting to the border as well as being within walking distance of the town square. The apartment was well-appointed and clean, with everything we needed. The Wi-Fi was very good, too, and the apartment building was very secure. But what made this apartment extra special was the host, Mike, who did everything to make our stay exceptional, not only picking us up from the airport but also providing us with information to make our stay the best it could be. 5-star service all the way!
Nothing, everything was great

Verified reviewRhonda very kindly met us at the airport and showed us around the apartment. Both bedrooms have bedside tables and wardrobes. The kitchen is well-equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. No dryer but we were able to dry things on the balcony using the washing line provided. The bathroom was extremely clean with good water pressure for the shower. Rhonda was quick to answer the one query we had during our stay and couldn't have been more helpful. Eastern beach is only a short walk away and we made good use of the bus service to get around Gibraltar. Nuno's restaurant across the road and Rizzo's Daily mini supermarket are both recommended. The building is on a busy road so if you like the windows open as we do, then you're going to hear some traffic noise. Having said that, we slept extremely well as noise within the building was minimal. The other residents that we met were all friendly. The airport is close enough that we walked there for our return flights. We weren't disturbed by any noise from take-offs or landings. If we ever return to Gibraltar we would be happy to stay here again.

Verified reviewI booked at very short notice while already in Gibraltar, having experienced irreparable issues in my initial accommodation. Michael was an absolute star - he replied promptly to confirm my booking and the check-in details, and met me at a time of my convenience that afternoon with the keys. He even offered me a lift to the apartment. Easy check-in process with a kind and friendly host! The apartment was just perfect, it had everything I could need for my short stay - but I could have comfortably stayed there for much longer. Bright and spacious, it was cleaned to a high standard throughout. Well equipt kitchen. Little considerations like bottled water, milk and wine in the fridge, some handy toiletries, and tea/coffee making provisions were all greatly appreciated. There was also a handy folder of useful information about the apartment and the local area, which a lot of care and thought had clearly gone into. The highlight of the apartment for me was the balcony and the amazing views of the northern face of the Rock (from both balcony and bedrooms). I enjoyed my morning coffee and an afternoon drink on the balcony every day of my stay, while taking in the striking views of the rock. As an enthusiastic birdwatcher, I was also thrilled to see and hear a pair of peregrine falcons soaring over the rock, while sat at the balcony! The apartment's location was also unbeatable - roughly equidistant from the airport, Casemates Square, and the more peaceful Catalan Bay, approx. 5-10 minutes walk to each. Lovely Italian restaurant (Nunos at the Express) and small grocery store are located conveniently just across the road from the apartment. It's not an exaggeration that booking this apartment and Michael's fantastic hospitality saved my holiday! I will definitely stay again during future visits to Gibraltar and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others.

Verified reviewThis flat was an amazing find excellent location and even if walking is not your thing it’s well serviced by regular bus to take you to Casement Sq where you can get a bus to anywhere. Property itself was immaculate and had all that you need including washing machine and cooking facilities if you choose to eat in and made breakfast a breeze. Outdoor seating was a major plus for us as was air con. This is only exceeded by fantastic hosts who communicated regularly with us to ensure everything was ok, picked us up from airport and took us back which was not expected but very much appreciated Mike is a 💎 in the Rock 👏

Verified reviewA Busy location as on the ring road but actually great as everywhere within easy reach walking -the beach [Catalan Bay is lovely] Casement Square and Main Street and the airport. The host Michael is amazing, and the flat has everything you could ever need and was really clean. Very Good Value- so we were really happy and had a great time.
The lift did not work and as we are all a bit geriatric the flights of stairs were tricky but the host Michael is exceptional and went above and beyond to help us which we really appreciated. So easy to contact, responsive and helpful= a big thank you!

Verified reviewThe apartment was in a very handy location, very well equipped and clean. Mike was a great host, and couldn’t have been any more helpful. We had a fab time.
It’s a shame the lift in the building was broken, but it was a chance to burn off the extra holiday calories. I believe it should be replaced very shortly, but wouldn’t put me off staying here again.

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay at Michael and Rhonda's flat. What we immediately noticed on our arrival, is how exceptionally clean and tidy the apartment was. There is everything that you might need on your stay. The location of the flat allows you feel like one of the 'locals', amongst the hustle and bustle of everyday life however, it is quite quiet at night time, and a good night's sleep is rest-assured! The view of The Rock from the balcony and bedrooms, far outweighs any other sights. The flat is a mere 10/20min walk away from popular beaches, and there are easy-to-catch busses, a stone's throw away from the apartment. What really stood out to our family though, is the host, Michael. He is a fantastic host! Professional, yet kind, patient and friendly, and easy to communicate with. He was available to collect and drop us off at the airport (considering we have two young children - we really appreciated this!), and we opted for him to give us a tour of some of the main sights around Gib. We felt like we were saying goodbye to a member of our family, when it was time to leave. We are so grateful for all that Michael prepared for us at the apartment, and for how accommodating he was. Thank you so much, Michael!
