the parking situation was precarious—a lot up a steep hill where you all have to double park, and then leave your keys with the staff to move your car as needed. not a huge issue, i get that it’s a small medieval town that wasn’t exactly designed with parking in mind, but something to be aware of. also, be forewarned that coffee that isn’t nescafe at breakfast is an extra charge!

the best part by far is the patio view. the staff, especially the english woman at the front desk, are incredibly nice and helpful. i got lots of great tips for the surrounding area.

We had problems with the car parking. Be sure you leave the key to them. We parked in their parking (no extra fee which was really good) for 4 days as discussed but later on they complained that we used too much space and we didn’t leave the keys. It was a bit an unpleasant conversation.

Maybe consider adding better blackout curtains — the morning light comes in quite early and strong.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Old House Mestia — it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious and clean, but the real highlight was the terrace with stunning views of the mountains. We enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals there every day, accompanied by soft, beautiful music in the background that made the atmosphere even more special. Nini, the owner, is exceptional. Her love for the place shows in every detail — the flowers, the cutlery, the warm ambiance. The staff are just as lovely — always smiling, helpful and welcoming. We can’t wait to return — hopefully in winter next time, which must be equally magical. Thank you, Nini, for making our stay unforgettable!

I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to because all of the staff were so friendly and helpful during my entire stay. They even helped me with my flat tire and arranged a private taxi for me to Ushguli. The views from the room were amazing, even on rainy days, and the food was delicious.

A bit of a smell at times from the drainage in the bathroom. Driving up and down the hill when there is snow or ice on the road is challenging.

Great location in the old city with nice views of the mountains and Svan towers. Very welcoming and helpful staff, and good food. We are already thinking about going back.

Everything was perfect.

The most incredible breakfast we have ever had - by far the best food we have had in Georgia!! Excellent view, lovely staff, beautiful dog and everything we needed. We even got a free room upgrade.

The walls are thin so not great for light sleepers. We had a teething baby next door.

Good location, outdoor patio. The manager, who is daughter of the owner, is amazing. She is there morning & night, working to make sure the many guest’s needs are met. She found us transport to & from Zugdidi. Some of the best food of our trip. Huge breakfast is included. Cozy atmosphere in their restaurant.

Just be sure to take the superior room, not the economy one. The difference is huge (the economy rooms are not renovated).

Location 5 mins walk from the center, in the old part of the town. Very good restaurant with a terrace with excellent views of the towers, town, and mountains. Kind staff. Comfortable, spacy renovated rooms. Rich breakfast.

Our room overlooked the terrace, where there is a restaurant and a recreation area. We came to Mestia after a long difficult hike from Ushguli and wanted to devote the rest of the day to relaxation and sleep, but it was so noisy outside that even a closed window did not save us. After 24:00, the noise became less, but still someone's nighttime conversations did not allow us to sleep properly until almost three o'clock in the morning. I think that people with light sleep should keep this factor in mind.

A beautiful hotel in the historical center of Mestia. Very spacious, warm room, comfortable bed and shower room. In the morning, delicious buffet breakfasts are served here with a wide variety. The staff of the hotel is incredibly friendly and extremely pleasant in communication.

We loved our stay here - rooms were comfortable with a private bathroom and beautiful view over Mestia. We ate all our dinners at the hotel restaurant (yes it was that good) and they must be one of the best in town! Breakfasts were great as well and varied each day. The only minor drawback is that it's situated on a cobblestoned steep slope, and we had to carry our luggage up, but the hotel and restaurant was so good that it's well worth the initial hike.
