How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFirst of all - host is exceptionally kind. The room is nice and spacious, everything is new and clean. Breakfast is amazing and you have a variety of foods you can choose from. Guest House is close to the city center and 2 minutes away from the Cathedral, so a bonus point for that as well.

Verified reviewClean room, comfortable bed, frendly owner
Very difficult access by car and parking. Google does not suggest a suitable route, it leads you via stairs.

Verified reviewComfortable, clean, accessible (on a hill just beside the river) guest house in Kutaisi. Bonus points for free parking. Stayed in another guest house in Kutaisi the previous night for a similar price and we felt like this was better value for money.
thank you❤️❤️

Verified reviewThe host speaks good English and was welcoming, chatty and helpful. The rooms were very well decorated with comfortable beds and modern ac. Nice breakfasts. The guest house is a short walk from.the bagrati cathedral which is worth a visit and there's a well located bar opposite the cathedral with a nice terrace.great views across the city. The guest house is 15-20 mins walk from the bars and restaurants in kutaisi.
The road up to the guest house is quite steep and it's a tight turn into the courtyard. Maria suggested we park in a nearby side road which was easier.
thank you❤️❤️❤️❤️

Verified reviewMaia, the host, was very communicative and helpful in all our requests. She speaks a fluent French and was open which allowed nice conversations. We arrived at night (5am due to our flight), but she was there to warmly receive us. The breakfast was ok/basic and we received a tasty glass of wine. The room was clean and modern. We warmly recommend Makos Guest House to any future guests.
Everything was ok
thank you❤️❤️

Verified reviewAlmost Everything. The location is a little bit far from the city center, but it's beautiful. If you love walking, then you will fall in love with the evening walk by the river towards the home stay. Maia is a great host. She is so welcoming. She offered us homemade wine, which was so awesome. The view from the balcony was so great. You will have a nice and delicious breakfast. We loved it.
There is nothing to dislike about this homestay.
thank you❤️❤️

Her family is incredibly warm and kind. The rooms were excellent, and the overall service was outstanding. We would love to come back and repeat the experience.

Verified reviewThis place is just outside of Kutaisi but depending on how you are coming to it, you have to drive through the traffic in town which can be a bit confusing. It is located up a hillside, so if you have a larger car (we had a land cruiser) it was tight getting in and out. We were only there for one night, so we parked our car in their courtyard and walked into the city. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk to the main city area to check out restaurants and the market. The room at the guesthouse was spacious and comfortable. There was so much storage – so if you are staying there a few days, you can unpack. There was no washing machine in the room, as indicated by the booking details. We did not ask the host if we could use theirs. The host speaks many languages (Georgian, Russian, French, and English), however her French is better than her English. We were able to ask for an early breakfast at 8:30. It was composed of different types of meat/sausages/sausage rolls as well as a hard-boiled egg, french toast, shotis puri, and coffee/tea.

Verified reviewThe owner of the guest house is a very nice lady. She ensured all the possible comfort and guidance that can be provided was provided. The guest house location in terms of view is very very nice. Both the owner and her husband woke up early to prepare breakfast for us as we had an early flight to catch. Really nice, clean and value for money.
Little bit away from downtown.

Verified reviewThe facility is very nicely managed by the hostess - Mrs. Maia. Very good wine to start. Room clean, large, comfortable extra bed for a child. Nice place to stay in Kutaisi - walking distance to the center about 20 min. Tasty breakfast, you feel at home there.
To drive a car into a parking lot you need to have some experience as a driver or have an off-road car.
