How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe apartment was clean and beds were comfortable, the view was fantastic.
It’s far and the way is a bit dangerous (by feet, the short road) and the privacy level is not high.

Verified reviewVery hospitable family, the house is new, it’s very clean. The room also has a hitting radiator so you won’t be cold. You can use equipped kitchen (I personally cooked Slavic traditional new year salads there, it took some time but I haven’t faced with any problems). The place located in the top of the hill so you won’t hear any city noise. So if you’d like to spend your time in cozy, calm vibe this place is for you!
Maybe short offs of electricity, but it’s common thing in Mestia

Verified reviewBeautiful guest house newly constructed from timber overlooking the town from the south, just over 10 minutes walk from Seti Park in the town centre. I had a relatively small double room but for 1 or 2 people it would be enough, especially as it was minimally furnished with just 2 bedside tables and a mobile hanger rack, which for me was perfect as I like to have some space for movement and little furniture. I also had a private bathroom which while small functioned well and for the price represented excellent value compared with the other rooms I saw offered online. And not least there was a balcony with chairs and a table facing the town and with views of the mountains to the north and east! There was also a very friendly young dog who greeted me whenever I returned, and I should mention that the first time I did so I mistook his excitement for aggression, but it turned out he was just overjoyed to see me!
Shared kitchen has little bench space but is nonetheless well equipped despite its small size.

Verified reviewThe guest house is nice, has a good view from windows. Hosts are super friendly, helpful. Put additional table into my room. it is close to the center, but quiet. Balcony tea was s separate pleasure.
It's hard to navigate a taxi to this place. But overall this is overweighed by the good views from the windows.

Verified reviewCosy and comfortable stay at Mestia! Nice view to the valley and city. Katie is extremely nice and helpful. We arrived at Mestia in midnight so Katie sent her husband to pick us up and warmly welcomed us at the hostel. Room is warm and has heater. There’s a small pantry with washing machine, microwave available for guests to use.
You would need to walk for 15 mins to the square for food and coffee. The wall is a bit thin so sometimes I can hear my neighbors talking on phone and dogs barking at night. It might be difficult to locate the house at night so you’d better contact with Katie in advanced for support!

Verified reviewI liked everything! The location, the rooms, the small kitchen - it even has coffee, tea and oil, which is very unusual in Mestia - and Kati the owner, who is such a lovely person! She made me discounts, washed my clothes for free and gave me homemade bread! From all the places in Mestia - I lived in different ones because I stayed almost one month - that one was far the best! I highly recommend it!

Verified reviewExcellent value, nice view from the balcony, comfortable room.
The walls are very thin, so you’re at the mercy of your neighbours. It’s not a great location for finding after dark.

Location. The property could have make a signage showing where to reach the place. Google map got confused because the property is on the other side which is reachable thru rough unpaved road.

Verified reviewI stayed there for 3 night and I really wanted to extend my stay as the place was very comfortable and cozy. It is a bit away from center (around 15 mins) which is a plus point as it's very calm and quiet. The lady was also very sweet. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to relax after long hikes.

Verified reviewIt’s very cozy & distance from the town noise, only river sound and beautiful nature
I arrived at night, so there is small part of the road until you reach the place which was totally dark and very bad road, it was raining so it was hard to walk too.
