How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe hosts are very hospitable and caring. They welcomed us warmly and immediatly noticed that one of our kids had fever and brought medicine. We later needed doctor and Gio found a pediatrician and helped us with translation. They also brought lot of toys for our kids that was very helpful.. It really pays off to stay with people who care and we booked it because of the good reviews.. and we Enjoy it more than we would most 4-5star hotel that are not so Personal.. very good value for money. Location is in the very center. Sighnaghi is small, but anyway- there’s a store right outside and everything is super close to walk to.
We liked everything. We appreciate Personal care. It feels like staying in someones home… Thanks Gio and Eka!

Verified reviewGio is a lovely host and the highlight of the stay is definitely his wine tasting, which is included in the stay. We were able to try four of his wines and 3 of his chachas, all of which were excellent! The room itself was cosy and quite quiet. It had everything we needed for our short stay.
The door to our room had frosted glass which led to some privacy but since the bed and the door faced the hallway directly it was a bit disconcerting there was no solid door.

Verified reviewA fabulous house right in the centre of Sighnaghi. Gio is a real character, I highly recommend the tour of his wine cellar: as others have said it's really amazing. Just make sure you've left room for a few more glasses of wine and chacha when you start it!! We took a full day tour of Kakheti with Gio too and are really glad we did. It was a fabulous day and we particularly loved meeting Gio's friend Gia at his beautiful house and family wine cellar.
We booked the cheapest room and it really was tiny. It was fine once we had unpacked, and it does have a large private bathroom, but be prepared for a bit of a squeeze initially: we wish we'd booked the bigger room

Verified reviewVery good view of the Sighnagi village from the room on the top floor. It's the house of the host Gio and he lives there. He is a super helpful, sweet guy. The rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. The location is very easy to find. If you have a car, you can park right in front of the police station/bus station in the town square just 50 meters away. Very good eating joints around this place too. Gio also offers wine cellar tours (he has one in the basement) for free. Very affordable, comfy, friendly stay. Definitely recommend!

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our stay with Gio and his family!! The location is perfect. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in in months. The breakfast was incredible - so generous and tasty! Gio offered us a free wine and chacha tasting and all his produces are delicious! He also drove us to Telavi for a very fair price - he can also organise a day tour around the vineyards. We will definitely stay with Gio again when back in Sighnaghi!
We loved everything.

Verified review- Fantastic location, very central in Sighnagi - Great warm strong shower - Gio was friendly, spoke good English, plied us with wine and chacha from his cellar, and offered his services driving us to various vineyards (170-200GEL per day depending on route - Gio has a set route he recommends which takes you to some of the best vineyards in the region, and you may be able to share the car with other guests in the guesthouse) - All in all we felt it was amazing value compared to other options in the region Notes: - Gio and his family live on the ground floor, they then have a second floor of maybe 3-4 guest rooms with a communal lounge and terrace and then an attic room on top. We stayed for 2 nights, guesthouse was empty apart from us for 2 nights and had 1 other guest for 2 nights (this is end of April) so can't say how crowded/lively it may feel with more guests - Breakfast (optional, additional cost 15GEL pp per day) changed slightly each day but was broadly fried eggs, dumplings (2 types - meat and cheese), bread and jams + tea or coffee - Although we were just 2 people we chose the bigger 4-person room in the attic for more space, private bathroom etc and felt this was good value:size ratio - Payment is only in cash
- Room we had (4 person attic room) was freeeezing even when it was a sunny day outside and temperatures in mid-twenties (this is end of April), although plenty of blankets were provided so wasn't a problem sleeping - Persistent drain/rotten egg smell from bathroom
