How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis was something fantastic. The owners are incredibly caring, kind and hospitable. We felt at home the whole time. After arriving in the evening, they offered us delicious cheese and bread. The breakfasts were incredible. We probably haven't had such a rich breakfast anywhere else. There was a common room available, where you could make tea or coffee at any time. The location is also very convenient, about 10 minutes from the center

Verified reviewThe best hosting experience we had in Georgia! It was very comfortable, clean, and the hosts are so lovely and took care about everything we needed sometimes before we even knew we were going to need them. They made us feel at home <3 We had only 2 nights there and would love to stay longer, but they were fully booked for the next nights. We highly recommend the delicious meals they offer - don’t miss them!
We loved it all!

Verified reviewWe had an amazing time there! The couple which run this place are such lovely and helpful people. Breakfast was amazing, everything is cooked fresh and the dishes are local, so it's a real Georgian experience. The location of the guesthouse is good and with private parking. It's cozy and clean.

Verified reviewThe hosts are very warm, kind and caring people. Due to them, my stay was great. I extended for one night and left some stuff there to go on a trek without any problem. They also offered many things out of kindness. The location is just a 10 min walk to the centre, very peaceful location. Really enjoyed the garden with the chickens and the baby chicks. This has been one of my best and most authentic stays in Georgia.
Nothing to note.

Verified reviewStaying here was like staying at a relatives place - we instantly felt so welcomed and taken care of. The place was so clean, homey and in a good location. In addition to accommodating us in their lovely home, their hospitality was so heart-warming as they also let us borrow their pump for our car tires, gave guidance for hiking routes, packed us food for our hike, etc. Their homemade breakfast and dinner was also delicious, you HAVE to try both when you stay here! Svaneti is so beautiful and our stay at Eliso's Guesthouse made it even more beautiful. Would highly recommend to stay here! Thank you so much! 🥰
This is minor, but would have personally preferred better pillows. But aside from that, everything was perfect and would highly recommend staying here 🫶

Verified reviewThe Hosts are just adorable. We really liked the charming garden with the house in front and beautiful kitchen where she cooked us an amazing dinner. We where the only guests and as it is a bit away from the busy center it was a resting and good night before our hike to zhabeshi.

Verified reviewVery nice place to spend your time when you visit Mestia. The owners don't speak English but we found a way to communicate. We enjoyed a delicious dinner there and Eliso treated us with some cake, jam or fruit every day. Clean, comfortable and authentic. After a few days you feel part of the family.
It's a bit tricky if you want to cook a meal by yourself. You need to ask pans from the owners and do some forth and back from the kitchen sink to the hotplates.

Verified reviewWe planned to spend just one night but stayed two. Lovely hosts, nice and clean room and the food available for extra payment is well worth it! Make sure to order at least breakfast, the owner's wife cooking is exceptional. That's a reason on its own to stay here! The room was well-heated, all shiny clean and with fresh linen. Bed was very comfortable. Good internet speed and range. Parking on a fenced yard. Stylish separated lounge/dining room on the ground flor where you can stay up late and not disturb other guests.
Only minor technical details or rather hints. The premises might be better marked. There is only a small dark sign on the fence, virtually invisible if you arrive at night as we did. No doorbell, so better announce your arrival. Also the shared bathroom is kind of outside. You need to dress up and actually go outside through an open terrace to reach it. Peculiar, especially in winter. Not a big problem but better to make travellers aware so they expect that or book a private bathroom room.
