Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GeorgiaThe hotel is in a very quiet and beautiful location. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. They could answer any question you have about Svaneti, what to see and how to get there. The room was comfortable and had a great view atop of the stars at night.

During our two-week trip to Georgia, our stay in Mestia at Davit's home became one of the most unforgettable highlights. We were completely charmed by the room with the glass ceiling that opened up to the sky, and although the house was a bit outside the main town of Mestia, we decided to stay there — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. It made our Mestia experience feel like a dream. We stayed in that room for two nights and were absolutely happy there, whether the weather was clear or rainy. On rainy days, when hiking wasn't an option, we slept in and enjoyed the peaceful view from our bed. On clear nights, we were lucky enough to lie in bed and count countless stars until we fell asleep. The bed was comfortable, and a small heater kept us warm through the cold mountain nights. As an eco-friendly home, we did occasionally spot small insects like ants, but it never felt uncomfortable — the bathroom was also spotless and clean. Before coming to Mestia, we had mostly stayed in hotels, so we hadn’t had many chances to interact with local Georgians. Staying at Davit’s home gave us a much more intimate and meaningful experience. His family was incredibly kind and welcoming — it truly felt like being at home. We were so grateful to have been a small part of a household spanning four generations, even just for a little while. It was a heartwarming and joyful time. I know that whenever I find myself overwhelmed by the busyness of daily life, I will think back to Davit’s home and the peaceful days we spent there. A stay at Davit's place is not just accommodation — it’s an experience of Georgia itself, a beautiful bridge between people and culture. Travelers who value local traditions and approach others with warmth and respect will undoubtedly love it here. Wishing Davit and his lovely family all the best always, and hoping we can meet again someday. Thank you once again — truly.

DenmarkGreat place, friendly family. Authentic Svan farming experience. Stunning view and charming village. Great hiking possibilities. Easy access to Mestia down town with help from host. Great options to buy healthy food from hosts - remember to say if you want wine, and if you prefer milk and yoghurt cold. Hosts will help with everything like trecking maps etc. If you wish you can take the dogs for a walk too, we brought them on our hikes and they were great company. If we ever return to Mestia we are definitely coming back, this was the best booking i have made here so far.

RomaniaThe accommodation is in a family home, everything is authentic. We stayed in the attic room with the glass ceiling and terrace, a unique experience. Fresh linen, cleanliness and private bathroom will ensure all the comfort. The hosts are very welcoming and warm, they help you with everything you need. Breakfast and dinner were very good, with products from their own home. From the terrace you can enjoy a breathtaking view, everything green and in the distance the snowy mountains, it was the most beautiful accommodation in Georgia. We communicated very well with Davit, he gave us information about the condition of the roads and about the mountains and trails. Congratulations on what you managed there with your wonderful family! Thank you for everything! Ahh, and I almost forgot, thank you for the very good house wine!

IndiaNothing. Everything was perfect.
Had the best time in our Georgia trip at Eco House Svaneti. The views were spectacular and the host David and his family were so warm and welcoming! It didn't feel like we were staying at a guesthouse. I loved playing with the adorable little ones (David's daughters) and the pet ducks and fur babies Toby and Bobby. David and his dad Leo picked us up and dropped us to the bus point and even gave us a ride till Mestia city center. Extremely thoughtful and generous! It's rare to come across such kindness in this day and age. And oh boy! The accommodation was crazy beautiful. We took a private room the first night and upgraded the next day to a beautiful cottage in the middle of the garden- where we woke up to breathtaking mountain views. The breakfast and dinner were extremely delicious! I am gonna come back here again!

UkraineSuch a nice place! David and his family are so kind, hospitable and open. We didn’t rent a car and David‘s dad drove us to the hotel and back💔 He told us lots of interesting stories about his hiking experience and treated to wine, coffee and sweets. David‘s mom organized comfortable space for us to feel warm and cozy. I knew that that locals are amazing but they exceeded my expectations! I would love to stay here in summer to visit many other local spots, go hiking and enjoy local food. Thank you so much for taking care of us and for your kindness! ❤️🇺🇦

United StatesAll was good.
Ecohouse Svaneti is a magical place. David and his family are excellent hosts and the location is in a small village south of Mestia. David's directions to their home were extremely helpful. We were amazed by the view from our room with large windows on 2 sides, a skylight and a large private terrace, Mountains surround the property. Facilities were clean and comfortable. The WIFI worked well. Parking was inside the gate of the property. We arranged for 2 breakfasts/2 dinners and were not disappointed. We chose not to drive our car to Ushguli and David arranged with his neighbor to drive us there in his car; do not miss this special experience. Thank you, David and family!

NetherlandsFor me to stay longer haha! but that was due to the planning of the trip. with this stay i had 0 complaints or anything needed to improve
David and his family were the most amazing hosts for my 2 night stay close to Mestia and really made the trip a memorable one. He always made time to have a chat, answer questions about the area or provide his recommendations which was handy as he is from the area. The facilities of the house were top notch and it really felt like a cosy warm home environment. On top of that the peacefulness and quietness of the location really added to the trip, so I will definitely be coming back to Davids house when in Mestia :)

United StatesNothing to complain about 🙂
Extremely quiet at night with the occasional cow moo which was funny. Do yourself a favor, get breakfast and dinner here. Because it’s a drive away from Mestia (20-25 min), I wouldn’t recommend leaving just to get breakfast and then come back or to get a late dinner (I don’t think it’s best to brave those winding roads at night). The food is a set menu, so you don’t pick what you get. Warn them if allergies/dietary restrictions, of course, and you should be good to go. Even though the menu is set, the food is different everyday, authentic Georgian food, and you get many different dishes for each meal. The hosts are really lovely people who will help get to and from Mestia as needed and will help coordinate rides to zugdidi/Batumi for you, if you ask. It’s a family run operation; everyone does their part and it’s very homey.

United KingdomThe ecohouse is quite far from the main road and could do with additional signposting along the road.
Everything!!! The host David runs this property extremely well. Everything is well organised and great communication with him through whatsapp. He gave us hiking recommendations for the area and the ecohouse is located in a very quiet village. We were highly satisfied with the dinner and I would highly recommend it. We ended up staying an extra night and there were no complications with switching rooms etc.

United KingdomNothing really. There was no singing so I will have to return for that and a new route over from Iprari to Lentekhi...
This is a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Mestia. Davit is a great host and speaks good English. The dinners and breakfasts were very tasty. I told Davit that I wanted to walk to Mkheri church. He said they had made a new route going up from his village so you could make a loop walk. I loved this route (better to go up this way and down the normal route from Latali). There is quite a bit of ridge walking which I loved.
