How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I’d like to give a special thanks to Neel, who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable during our stay. He even assisted me with handling post, which was such a help as we live abroad and needed to get some items sent. The place itself has a lovely, homely feel, with a welcoming café, and it’s set in a beautiful location with lots of scenic walks nearby. We felt really well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thank you Neel, and the Cherry Tree hotel!

Access by key safe. Would have preferred to be greeted. Once we called a phone number a helpful gentleman came to sort out key issue and show us to our room.
Breakfast was additional to the room charge and served in the cafe area. Suited us as we did not want a cooked breakfast. Juice, cereal and tea; might have liked fresh fruit and yoghurt to add.

Drip outside the green room is loud , wakes you up at around 530am , and there is no escape from it it literally is torture. The staff at breakfast are awkward , it's a very bizzare and an uncomfortable experience. The WiFi is rubbish My booking said there was wine for guests and a bath and shower , but there was only a shower. I get the impression the owner is new to this game so they need to up there game and fast

It was our second visit. Very comfortable and I loved the decor in our room. We are looking forward to our next stay in September. Unfortunately we were unable to participate in breakfast as it started too late for us as our itinerary required us to be at our respective offices by 7:30am. The instructions on how to enter after hours, on arrival, were very clear and we had no problems accessing our room card and room. A well thought out arrivals process, and nice comfortable and interesting rooms with clean modern bathrooms that were a pleasure to come back to after a long day at the office.

Noise, room was next to wooden stairs, very noisy in the evening..... Getting out off accommodation was dangerous as road had a sharp bend with cars flying round the corner .....mirror opposite was not of much use
Didn't use breakfast or cafe facility's. Room was excellent...location a little bit away from chinnor but accessible with car...

Room a little small for 2 large people.
Comfie bed. Lots of hot water in the shower. Tea/coffee facilities, nice decor. Lovely people. Good breakfast.

Very cozy with a very nice breakfast and the best oat cappuccino. Staff very nice and friendly. The area is just a wonder of nature.

Breakfast was not from 7.30am as advertised but from 8.00am. The chef was ill so only a dry breakfast was available. It didn't worry me but I expect it may have affected other guests. In the end, I couldn't wait until 8.00am and went to Waitrose instead. I think describing it as 'luxury' is pushing it a bit. It's pleasant but there is noise from the road and the shower gel and soap are not anything special.

Roadside windows mean traffic noise is inevitable, but we've known far worse.
Convenient location if travelling on the M40. Good size room. Comfy bed. Clean modern bathroom. Fridge and microwave in room are an added useful bonus.

The room on first floor was very hot - no air con . It was a heatwave , but so hot and fan could not be adjusted .

Slight issue with Breakfast, I originally booked the property including Breakfast, obviously since new ownership breakfast is not included so had to pay for breakfast

I think calling a kettle a “coffee maker” is a bit misleading. Having said that, the coffee bags provided were surprisingly decent.
Spotlessly clean. Beautiful location. Check in was as simple as calling when I was 20 mins away. No hassle.

The room was very warm and could have benefited from an AC unit. The accommodation was very clean and other than the temperature very comfortable.
Location was ideal for our purpose with lots of local pubs and restaurants.

No air con in the room on what was one of the hottest days of the year! Bed was a bit too soft and our room had the toilet and shower in a separate room which you had to access by leaving your own room. ( I was aware of this before we booked). The staff were very friendly and helpful. I definitely would stay again.
In a beautiful area and the rooms were clean, comfortable and newly refurbished.
