Not so much as not like but it would have been nice if there was a full length mirror on the wardrobe or on the wall just to check your attire before leaving to go out for the evening

The only problem is the lack of parking. However, carpark is fairly close and free street-parking is possible too, but a couple of streets away.

Nothing really. Only the limited on-site parking (4 spaces) but we were lucky to get spaces for both our cars during our stay. Would be great to offer local massage from therapists at the hotel on request.

Very well modernized large Victorian property located within walking distance of the seafront with a very friendly and most helpful team of ladies, offering all one could need for a stay (even an iron and ironing board) and a truly satisfying copious but healthy breakfast daily (customised and chosen the night before). The bathrooms are modern, wide enough and complement the pretty bedroom also. Great communication with the owner Kate also from the very start of booking. Our front room can get very warm in the day even with windows half-open and blinds down but there is a very quiet efficient fan provided which does help falling to sleep in the Summer months.

limited parking so offroad if available was a must. Room good quality, though needed air conditioning as it got extremely warm and cooling fan supplied did not suffice. Very noisy being on a main road with windows open.

Breakfast was excellent. Quality furnishing and decor. Excellent service from staff. Nice touch was the free bottles of water to take out if needed.

I booked in the belief that I would be able to park my car. On arrival I discovered that there is effectively one guest parking place. This was occupied for the duration of our stay by a car which never moved. Roadside parking is possible on adjoining streets, but availability is very limited. The proprietor offered to refund parking charges at the nearest public car park, however the practicality of this would have been awkward since overnight parking charges expired at 8:00am, meaning that it would have been necessary to go to the car and pay for another 2 hours until we would be ready to leave. In the event we managed to find roadside parking within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. The other downside was that because of the warm weather we slept with open windows fronting a main road, on a hill, opposite a pub. Hence disturbed sleep due to noise.

If I’m being picky…it would have been nice to park at the property. There are limited spaces but there’s plenty of street parking nearby.

The location was perfect—just a short stroll to the seafront. The room and en-suite shower were stunning, finished to a high standard and felt brand new. But what truly stood out was the exceptional customer service. Kate went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, and Shana’s breakfast service was equally outstanding. They were both incredibly friendly and thoughtful, even catering to my dietary needs. I couldn’t recommend it more!

The Castleton was beautifully clean and tastefully furnished, we were fortunate to have a lovely, airy room with a partial sea view. The staff were friendly and very hospitable. We definitely plan to return for a stay in the future.
