We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We stayed in the Richmond suite and loved the large room with 4 poster bed, that was so comfortable. The bath for 2 was perfect for a romantic evening dip. The breakfast was A*.

We understand the property is listed and the windows were being replaced one at a time and looked very smart from the front but the glass in our side window could have dropped on the path below with nothing more than a strong breeze. Hopefully the remaining windows will be replaced soon.
A friendly welcome, the property was lovely full of charm and character. Our bed was very comfortable and breakfast was great, cooked to order. We managed to park right outside and the parking disc worked perfectly for us. Location just off the market square was so convenient for shops, places to eat and the castle.

Good choice of items for breakfast. Our room was very spacious and well appointed with a separate seating area. Parking turned out to be very straight forward, simply a case of remembering to reset your parking disc in the evening.

United KingdomCarpet in the bathroom is a bit bizarre but don't know if all the rooms are like that or just the one we stayed in.
Upon arrival the host was there to greet us and was very friendly/welcoming, once shown our room we each received a complimentary drink which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. Car parking is free at the market as you are provided a disk by the hotel, we were there before the craft/farmers market so had to be careful not to park in the cordoned off section but even with an area closed off there was still plenty of spaces. The room was spacious, neat and tidy, the bed was super comfortable and the pillows were to my liking as they didn't give me a sore neck as I have experienced at other hotels. We couldn't hear any of the other guests while we were sleeping so slept really well. Breakfast was superb and you can customise it to your preferences the night before so there isn't a long wait for it the morning. They also supplied a mixed cereal, fruit and juice area that you can help yourself to before the hot breakfast comes. Was very good and hope to stay again soon.

United KingdomThe Castle House is in the perfect location. It's right in the heart of Richmond, but is tucked round the corner away from any noise. The lady who checked us in was wonderful and we enjoyed a complimentary drink. Our room was lovely and the sloping floor is a great example of the history of this old and beautiful building. Parking in the square was fine and was free for 2 hours and overnight.

Wonderful, bed-and-breakfast experience. The proprietor welcomed us, gave us a drink and chatted with us, and we were able to park very close by. She even helped carry our luggage up to the room on the first floor.
