Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceA locker at the private room would be nice addition.
The host was very kind and helpful. The room had all the basic things we needed. Also very close to public transport (buses and metro). The center of the city was very accessable.

SerbiaThe apartment felt a bit worn, but the location was perfect. It could use some TLC, but the charm was undeniable, location was good and it was good value for the money.
Well connected to underground transportation - 10' walk to nearest station, 12' to Stratford station.

HungaryGood location, Stratford Centre is 10 min walk from the house, so the city center is easily accessible via public transportation. Michael was a really kind and helpful host. Room was perfect for a quick visit to London.

ItalyThe room/bathroom could be a bit cold for somebody like us coming from the south of Italy as we're not used to this cold weather. (We visited in January) The room is overall alright, especially if you're planning to visit the city during the day and stay in the room to sleep only. I would suggest a warmer/thicker duvet; the sheets were quite cold. Also they didn't have a hairdryer.
Michael is very polite and attentive towards his guests.

United KingdomNo fridge or TV in room. No lock on bedroom door.
Great location near Stratford in gated development. For a homestay the accommodation is excellent - sizeable bedroom with garden access, iron/board etc, nice en suite with heating rack for clothes, private kitchenette with washing-machine. Host was friendly and very helpful.

AustraliaShabby location, poorly maintained area. Description not accurate. There was a lock on the main door,no lock on the bedroom door even though it was multi roomed, others in potential residence.East London being multi cultural ,depressed, and risk prone. You need to check those who make exaggerated claims of what they are offering as your reputation is governed by what you offer to potential clients and faithful long term clients.

SloveniaEasy to get from Stansted Airport. Stratford station is close (all means of transport available; railway, underground, overground, DLR, busses...) It is very easy to get into the centre of the city, because you have a lot of options and connections, and the trains go every few minutes. The place is lovely and clean. The bed was comfortable, it is in a safe location and it is a great place for that price. Michael, the owner is very nice and kind, always checking about your stay.

MexicoMy daughter and I liked that the room had a private bathroom and a refrigerator, but most of all, we loved how easy it was to get there. There are several underground lines nearby, and the Jubilee Line starts (or ends) at Stratford. From there, you can take a bus that drops you off right at the corner of the house, which is located in a gated area. Michael is a very attentive, helpful, and above all, kind and respectful person. Without a doubt, I would stay here again. Thank you, Michael! Also, the place is very clean, and the price is amazing — especially for London. It also has a large shopping center nearby — Westfield.

PolandThere wasn’t lock in the door which made us very uncomfortable. Also the window in the bathroom couldn’t close properly so it was very cold (as cold as on the outside).
Everything looked exactly like in the photos.

SpainThe place is not convenient at all. The bed is very stiff and pillows are very thin. The interior design of the room is quite old-fashioned. The shower didn’t even have shampoo nor body wash. They are a family so they live with kids, which means at 7:30 am You will hear feet stomping on the floor and since they leave on the upper floor you’re going to listen to every single noise they make. We found one huge spider in our bedroom and our first day, another one hanging from the ceiling of the bathroom. The windows don’t have a handle. They do, but they are broken. There is just one bedside table with without a lamp, what they have is a fan.
The house smells well at least.

United KingdomThe door has no lock, room is directly below a living area with presumably wooden floors. Last night I've spent there was interrupted by vacuuming at 11pm and what sounded like complete rearrangement of furniture. I told the owner I came to London for work and honestly wasn't pleased with the lack of consideration.
The room was nice, comfortable bed, large bathroom and a tea point if needed.

ItalyThe room and the bathroom were a bit too cold for people coming from warmer places like Italy. Some of the basic tools like shower-foam, hand-towels or hairdryer were missing. If I may suggest, it would be nice to have a bathroom fan heater, even a small one would be enough for the size of the bathroom. AFAIK the host just started doing this so I hope that he can get advantage from my feedbacks in a proactive way.
Price. Location near to the Stratford tube station (less than 10 minutes walking) like famous Jubilee line and the Stansted Airport. The host, is really a great person and a good host.
