Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel has definitely seen better days, it’s looking a little weary, like it could use a strong coffee and a lie down of its own. That said, it was clean, and that counts for a lot. Some of the fixtures, however, were more tired than I was. The toilet in reception had no lock, our bathroom door didn’t close properly, and its lock looked like it was on the verge of retirement. One of the window restrictors had clearly been through some sort of dramatic incident, with broken wood still dangling. The wardrobe was leaning against the wall as if it, too, had simply given up. The rest of the room, to be fair, was fine. Clean, the bed was comfortable, and the first night was blissfully quiet. Staff were pleasant, though some of the interactions were slightly odd. I arrived late (10:40pm) and finding the place was pretty confusing. The main visible sign was for an old people’s home, and parking was… creative. A sign for “additional parking” led directly to a metal fence. I asked if I could park in front of that fence, as it didn’t look like it was used and my friend would still need to park. She would be able to block me in. I specifically asked of they needed access, reception said no access needed and to go ahead and park there. I didn’t expect to be asked for a £10 cash deposit for the key. I don’t carry cash, but I would have if I’d known. It’s not mentioned in any of the booking emails (I checked, twice). He kindly accepted a £5 note I found in my bag. When I suggested they might add it for clarity, the receptionist looked like I’d just complained. That was not my intention. Just a helpful suggestion for future guests to be able to prepare. The next morning, we were asked to move the cars because the shop needed access. No idea what shop. No problem at all, but a heads-up the night before would have avoided the shuffle. Plus it was 11:30am and we could have already headed out by then. I would have been mortified if I’d prevented access all day despite asking.
It’s an old building with lots of potential. Could be amazing if someone invested time and money into it.

United KingdomThere was no lamp so we had to keep the main light in all evening (not very relaxing!). No bath mat or hand towels. The soap rack was rusty. The window security tag was broken and had nails coming out of it. The wardrobe doors hang poorly (one higher than the other and don't stay open), the bathroom door didn't close properly and the lock was hanging off. Wifi was very weak - netflix couldn't sign in or play anything in the TV or on my laptop.
Lovely helpful staff, comfy, clean and warm beds. Fairly new bathroom. Soft carpets. Kettle, cups and tea bags handy.

United KingdomThere was no hot water, I kept the tap running for a good 5 minutes and only got to the point where it wasn't freezing cold. Also wasn't told in any of my emails received that ID and a £10 key deposit was needed, but they did let me sort it out later as I didn't have it on me when checking in.
Due to the reason of us being there, we parked up at 10am and went in to ask if i needed to register my car before heading back out but they gave us early check in. The bed was so comfy, I slept like a baby

ThailandThe decor was very strange, outdated, the plastic plants and there was no lamp. Only a full room light available, it's rare that this is suitable most people would require subtle lighting of a small lamp. I disliked this I'm sorry
The guy who checked me in was wonderful, welcoming and personal, we got on very well and he went above and beyond to make sure I got a room I felt was suitable and that I was looked after. All the staff we re fantastic

United KingdomToo many wooden ikea shelves. Like cheapstakes😅. It is giving a care home vibes especially it is next to care home. The shower holder was broken. It is like made from poor budget. In fact, Premier Inn and the likes is way much better.
Bed was comfy, room was high ceiling.

United KingdomOur room wasn't ready when we arrived. Had to ask for towels as there was only 1 bath mat towel and 1 towel for showering. Had to ask for a radiator, room was so cold and main radiator wasn't working. TV didn't have a remote and we when asked for the remote, was given one that didn't work. The key card kept locking us out the room, returned to hotel at 3:30am after the night out, the card didnt let us in and we was told that we checked out, big confusion. Had to give booking details again to new staff member. Eventually got in the room once it was confirmed we were guests. I wouldn't visit again.

United KingdomThe furniture was basic, the room was cold and there weren’t enough towels. Someone was painting before we arrived and it was too cold to open the windows, so the smell of paint lingered throughout.
The accommodation was fine for a last-minute booking and very reasonable in price. The staff, the location and value for money were all plus points.
