How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis felt like being in a home away from home. Lovely furnishings, in the perfect location - super comfortable and warm! The accommodation was 10/10. The host was communicative all the way through- there wasn’t anything more we could have asked for.
The accommodation was perfect but if we had to ‘nit pick’ the Haven play passes were ridiculously overpriced for our short stay - this didn’t matter to us as we wanted to explore the culture and go to Edinburgh (which was a short enough drive plus there is a 24hr bus service from site too) Others may want to factor this into the cost of their holiday but for us, it didn’t matter and wouldn’t deter us from going again.

Verified reviewThe owner was very accommodating, and helped us with everything we needed. Location was fantastic. Wonderful view, and very relaxing atmosphere. Complete with parking. Great place for the kids. Mini market close by.
Very close to Edinburgh geographically, though with traffic on the weekend, it took at least 45 minutes in each direction to the city center. the twin bed room had small and tight beds, and are more suitable for kids under 12.

Verified reviewWe stayed here as a family with three children (ages 15, 9, and 3), along with myself, my husband, and my sister — and it was such a comfortable and enjoyable stay for everyone. The caravan was spotless, beautifully kept, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The surrounding area was peaceful and scenic, perfect for both kids and adults to enjoy. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating, giving us extra time for check-out, which was a big help when traveling with children. It truly felt like a home away from home.
Honestly, there was nothing to complain about — everything exceeded our expectations.

Verified reviewThe caravan was well equipped and a superb location close to Edinburgh. It is a very nice place with a mini market, swimming pool, laundrette, and restaurant ( all at an extra cost). Felt like a home away from home 🏡

Verified reviewCaravan well equipped and situated in a quiet area of site
Twin rooms are very compact (Beds not suitable for adults) Disappointed with Seton Sands as a holiday site. Not great for kids 3 and under. £50 for adult pass to take toddlers swimming as too young for entertainment.
Thanks Kathleen for your review. This is prestigious Swift Bordeaux caravan model 2023. All the bedrooms are standard for the caravan and definitely suitable for adults. If you require house or hotel rooms please next time book appropriate accommodation, not caravan. Moreover review related to Haven site should go to Haven website I think. This is private listing. Our aim is to bring the highest standard on the site and we do our best to ensure that guests feel in our caravans taken care of. Good luck! Jadwiga

Verified reviewLocation of caravan was good. Had everything you could ask for fridge/freezer, coffee machine, oven, microwave, utensils. Didn't need to eat out as the caravan had a nice dining area.
There was dirty sheets left on the dining table when we arrived. When we were away for the day, someone came to service the boiler. We were not advised of this. Oven had been on, hoover left out and caravan very hot on a extremely hot day! Issues with the shower room lock, couldn't get in initially, messaged reception but no acknowledgement. Eventually sorted the issue ourselves.

Verified reviewSurprisingly pleasant - we felt the need to extend our stay.
The WiFi and mobile network coverage in the area is poor. Couldn't stay connected continuously on the WiFi, and the mobile phone coverage wasn't working either. It wasn't a problem for us as it helped keep the kids off the Internet- but if you need great connectivity (say for work) might be a bother
