Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyTHE POSITION. It is close to the bus stations and you can easily reach each direction. Very close to Camden. And THE PRICE.
Where to start? Hahaha. This room u see in the pics with the bunk beds wasn’t the room we got. We have 2 kids (12 and 10) and they had to sleep on a tiny sofa bed which would barely fit 1 person LMAO. I asked to change the room and we got told that it wasn’t gonna happend and as the place was fully booked. BTW ON ARRIVAL (15 mins before check in time) the room was NOT ready. I had to personally go downstairs finding the cleaner (a lovely Mexican dude which was very helpful I need to say) to get the room cleaned . In all of this bare in mind that the building is a converted pub so stairs are extremely narrow (my husband fell down the stairs - he didn’t get hurt lucky). When u enter the building u get into a Silent Hill kind of hallway.. very dusty and full of the most absurd cr** and smelling like fags. So no reception, no nice entrance. It was like the pub from “28 days after “ . We left to give the cleaner the time to clean the room. We came back and a pillow was missing. I contacted the property and asked for a pillow: denied. Had to give my pillow to my daughter and I slept on the tiny cushion on the bed (the square ones). Went to take a shower before bedtime after a whole day out & surprise : the coldest water ever. So not hot water for the entire stay. I still don’t know wheter to laugh or cry but the price was really good. I guess u truly get what u pay for.

United KingdomThe room was not ready upon arrival so we were moved to another room with a seperate washroom up a set of stairs, my daughter is 9 years old!! I told them it was unacceptable and they told us we would have to stay in that room.overnigjt until they cleaned original room next day. I refused and found the cleaner who happily cleaned out the room thoroughly and quickly so we were delayed 2 hours check-in into our room.i was not happy and reported the bad service
It was an ok location the cleaner was worth his weight on hold very very friendly

New ZealandThe shower temperature was broken, it was either boiling hot or ice cold. There was no extraction in the bathroom so the whole room smelt damp and yucky. We were able to use the communal bathroom so that was good! There was no air conditioning in the rooms, the rest of the place was nice and cool but the bedroom was very hot and the windows wouldn't open at all. I do think the price was far too steep for what we got.
The staff were super receptive and got back to me quickly with any requests or issues, so I was pleased and pleasantly surprised with that! The bed was comfy, we requested extra pillows and got plenty, location was pretty good.

United KingdomBooked a room with private bathroom. Was given a tiny room without one and a window that didn't open. Was like a sauna. Was then put into a room with private bathroom and it hadn't been cleaned from the previous. I had to take the bedding from the first room make the bed myself and buy towels. And the Was no light in the bathroom and had to use phone torch. And is NOTHING like the pictures. Have to say its the worst place I have ever stayed in and I'm a builder who has stayed in many cheap places over the country but this one wins as the worst
I liked that I was only here for 2 nights. If everywhere wasn't booked up because of a festival I wouldn't have stayed.

ItalyIsolated structure far from the tube (piccadilly 15 minutes, K Cross, 20) room with only a bed, not even a chair or a table. a small noisy fridge, a small microwave. no air conditioning. Structure positioned in the sun, insufficient curtains, hot. In summer the sun arrives at 5 in the morning. Very steep stairs, if you have suitcases you will struggle. It is on the corner with a traffic light, very noisy due to traffic, even at night. No staff person met, an email arrives with the access code and that's it. 100 euros per night even with a bathroom in the room is too much, but London has become a speculation, this structure falls within the average of tourist exploitation. Look, there is still better at the same price.

AustraliaAlmost the entire stay. On the first day we arrived we were allowed to drop out bags off earlier (12pm) but when we came back at 3:30 (3pm check in) we were locked outside because the pin pad batteries popped out. We had to wait an hour or so for someone to come fix it. Outside mind you. The room we booked wasn't even cleaned even though the cleaner was supposed to arrive before our arrival at 3pm. They never arrived to clean it. We waited until 6pm, no one came to clean it. The owner finally let us move to another room. The power would cut out constantly and the owner told us to flip the main switch because it would always short circuit (clearly this happens often). I tried to put in a complaint to get my money back but the link through booking.com would not work. All after a 24 hour flight, its the last thing you want to deal with.
Not much really.

United States- It was difficult figuring out how to operate the code/lock at first, but we found that swiping our whole hand on it somehow made the numbers show up… the owner needs to provide clear instructions for this. A video would help, since they message through WhatsApp. - The room was hot. Couldn’t open window, no fan, no AC. The curtain didn’t close all the way, so sun would shine through in the AM. No one collected the rubbish the whole week we were there, which was odd because if there was someone cleaning other guest rooms, shouldn’t they collect the trash too? No extra plastic bags provided to put it away ourselves outside. There were little gnats and ants everywhere. The owner responded to messages, but follow-through on requests was extremely slow. There was an alarm going off every minute and it wasn’t fixed until our third night. Super bothersome when trying to sleep. There was one sheet and the bottom gray blanket looked dirty. There was light in the bathroom, but the switch is a little confusing, as it looked like the emergency pull from other countries. When you enter, there is mail all over the floor and the cleaners do not pick it up when they enter.
Near a bus stop. There was hot water, a microwave, and a fridge. Food and Sainsbury’s local nearby. The price was reasonable for London… we stayed for a week.

FranceIt was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. The establishment was difficult to find. Trash are in front of the door. I reserved 2 rooms and none had hot water or lights. I told him by text message to find a solution. He said to me to turn on the button of the circuit breaker. IT’S NOT MY JOB !! I paid for a service and the minimum is to give us what you note on the description. I spoke with two other families and they had the same problems. I don’t recommend you to pay for it.

GermanyWe stayed there late spring. No elevator, so its a little difficult to go upstairs with luggage since the the stairs is so steep. A lot of mess due to renovation, so it's dusty during our stay. We had queen size bed, thank God. But the room is too small to move around esp.when you open your luggage. No hangers provided, no cabinets. It smells paint. We cannot open the window and no air-condition (heater only), so after taking a bath in the morning, immediately you'll be sweating. No table or foldable table provided, we have to eat in the bed. No bedside table as well. No trashcan in CR even though they have a notice that they have a trash bin provided. On our last night, the main entrance door lock is not functioning? We cannot lock it so anyone can enter.
House security is okay. Near to Bus stop and Camden Town.

United KingdomFirstly no kettle, I reported to management but they did nothing about it. Flies everywhere, window doesn’t open. Secondly, a guy entered our room on the second day when we were out of the premises, upon arrival at 5pm, we found our door open. The man approached our door, stating he was part of the management team. We straight away asked him if he had entered in our room while we were not there. He apologized and stated he did but to use the only microwave in the building. We expressed our concern and frustration over this matter, we go into our room to find that he had his food still warming up in the microwave. Mind you, this was a service that we payed for privacy. He brings a kettle with no plug socket for it, as I request him to find it and come back. I check my belongings to find a bag of coins that was in my bag to go missing. I checked everywhere and couldn’t retrieve it. The man never returned back to the room, so I contacted management who shut it my face and never provided any information or support and stated that they only had a cleaner come in at 11am and that there is only CCTV at the entrance. Mind you, you’re basically paying for your health and safety and security to be breached. I CALLED THE POLICE AND MADE A CRIME REPORT. As I couldn’t get the number or details who the hell entered our room when we wasn’t present. PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS PROPERTY FOR YOUR SAFETY

United KingdomExtremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid if You Value Your Money and Comfort This was by far the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The room had multiple serious issues: there was no running water in the bathroom, the windows didn’t open, and the curtains failed to cover the windows properly—compromising both comfort and privacy. I initially booked for 10 days but was forced to leave after just 3 and move to another hotel due to the poor conditions. Despite repeated attempts to contact the property manager via calls and emails, I received no response. The lack of support and basic amenities made the entire experience incredibly frustrating. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

IrelandMy friend and I booked this property through Booking.com to attend a festival, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the listing had been completely misrepresented. The hotel looked nothing like the photos online. There was no air conditioning or even a fan available, despite a severe heatwave that week, making it extremely uncomfortable and nearly impossible to rest. The room layout was bizarre and impractical, with zero amenities provided. We were immediately greeted by a long, continuous trail of ants crawling all over the floor, walls, and even near the beds. The lack of cleanliness and basic hygiene was shocking. But things got significantly worse. On our second night, while attempting to clean the bed ourselves, we discovered three bed bugs crawling on the mattress and, horrifyingly, a used butt plug under the bed. At this point, we had no safe or clean place to sleep — and it was already 2am. We reached out to the owner immediately to explain the severity of the situation, but their response was appallingly slow. They showed no urgency, no empathy, and no real effort to help. We were left stranded with nowhere to sleep, and no one would answer our calls. Replies took hours, and any kind of assistance was constantly delayed or dismissed. Despite our clear distress and the serious hygiene issues, they refused to offer us a different room or alternative accommodation, claiming they were "fully booked." As if that wasn’t enough, there was also a so-called “bar” area on the property that looked completely abandoned and unsafe. It was filthy and cluttered with dangerous, exposed wiring hanging from the ceiling, broken equipment, and various sharp or hazardous objects lying around. This space was easily accessible to guests and felt like a serious health and safety violation.
