Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenAll good for a one night stay.
Quaint accommodation in an old building. Stayed with a group for a wedding nearby and it fitted the bill perfectly. The room was small but had all the necessary facilities for an overnight or two night stay. Breakfast was fresh and good quality. Free parking and nice gardens.

United KingdomSee above.. I n paid %13 for the breakfast. They had fruit juices; small packer cereals, and offered cooked items.
The room was clean and tidy but in my opinion small for the amount I paid. Through booking .com . The bathroom had a sloping ceiling.

United KingdomReview of Room 3 (Small Double) - Compact size for 1 person. The bed was comfy. It contained all the standard accessories (Tea/Coffee, Shower products) but could do with adding some biscuits! The bathroom was big enough and the shower was excellent. The views were of the garden so lovely birdsong in the morning. Eating - A good variety on the menu. I would recommend the Chicken Curry as it was very traditional and obviously home made (served with Rice and Naan). It could do with having Mango Chutney or Yogurt as condiments though. Nice bar too! The location is ideal as it's about 20 minutes drive to Bury St Edmunds.

United KingdomIt was hot, so I had the window open. An outside boiler was occasionally noisy. With the double glazed window shut, this wouldn't have been a problem.

United KingdomAs stated before, the rooms are a little "tired", but not enough for me to detract from the enjoyment of my stay
Although the rooms are a little bit "tired", I still found this stay (my second) comfortable, peaceful and enjoyable. The evening staff, Tanya and Sacha (hope that is correct) we're a joy to deal with. After dumping my bag in my room, I went for dinner. The staff were attentive without hovering, and my meal was relaxed. I didn't feel that they wanted rid of me in order to get other tasks completed. My meal itself was simple, but was presented beautifully and the portions large enough to satisfy a larger person (me), as well as tasting lovely. The grounds that the hotel is situated in mean that after dinner or first thing in the morning, you are able to sit outside with a drink or coffee and relax and reconnect with nature to a certain degree.

United KingdomNothing very negative really. The room though was very small, I'm 5'6 and it was cramped for me, bumped my head a few times. I was only made aware of this when booking in which I thought wasn't ideal. Anyone taller would've had an issue, or if they were a couple. As I travel on my own a lot it wasn't a big deal but I can imagine some people would cause issues at reception once they've seen the size of the room. It should be made clear in the booking that the room is very small. The kettle wouldn't switch off either, Room 7. The lid was properly down so it must be an issue with the thermostat. Unable to fill the kettle from the taps in the bathroom as the sink was too small to get the kettle under, used my cup to fill it. The shower was very loud too when switched on, not great if you want a shower late in the evening or your partner is asleep, bathroom was also very small, I'd say the room was "economy class" but for someone travelling alone for one or two nights it is ideal. Clean, tidy and has the basics. albeit small. I think for the price too, maybe a free breakfast should be included with this room as a way of making up for the size of the room. I would stay again. Thank you.
Location was very good, parking good too, well away from the main road so vehicle safe. Pleasant surroundings.

United KingdomI would say the property needs updating to a more modern standard but also retaining the character of the property which I think would be a considerable cost . Although dated fittings etc we had a very good breakfast with a great outlook to the garden. The staircase is amazing. Plenty of parking and helpful host
