Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomShower very poor, broken shelf in fridge made storage of milk problematic. Would have been helpful to know you have to purchase pass to be able to use swimming pool and for 1 adult and 2 kids under 6 staying for 3 days was over £100, for 1 use of the pool !! wasn’t planning going to the showbar, realised too late on day 1 pool was closing and day 3 technically not enough time to get packed up and fit in another pool trip, if I’d known that information before arrival it would have been very helpful, check in details message arrived very late, as we were driving we didn’t actually get it until we arrived at the site, day before would have been useful.
Clean enough, beds relatively comfortable.

United KingdomThere was a problem with the hot water, it was very low pressure and it was impossible to get a good balance in the shower. It was either freezing cold or boiling hot. I contacted the owner about this and they didn't get back to me. It was ok as we only stayed a couple of days, but it would have been difficult for a longer stay. There is a swimming pool on site but private owners have to pay £50 per person per stay for it. It would have been ok value if we had been staying a while, but not for a couple of days.
It is a lovely caravan in a great location The bed were comfy and the TV was great. The kitchen was adequately stocked.

United KingdomThere was hardly any kitchen utensils or cutlery to use. Kitchen was not properly cleaned out before we checked in. Heater in one of the rooms didn’t work. Shower head was leaking. Double bed had one wobbly leg. However, the host fixed most of these issues on the 2nd day of our stay, which we did appreciate.
Located within Haven holidays, it offered access to Haven activities

United KingdomThe Owner was lovely and helpful but we did have a few issues. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, the sofa too. The Oven did not light which was a major issue as there was 5 of us and we had groceries delivered for our stay. The Shower was freezing for the first day, when we realised the Boiler had gone out, was luke warm when we got it back up and running but you couldn't move the shower head as it just fell from down. There's was only 1 Saucepan, 1 Frying Pan which made things quite difficult too. Everything else was great and the location is fabulous, couldn't have asked for better. Can be a little noisy with occasional aircraft from Airport and people onsite blissfully unaware of the time, but that would be anywhere on the Seton Sands site.

NetherlandsThere was no option for the kids to join any activity or visit the pool without the entertainment cards. The host was not too proactive, had to enquire about check-in details on the day of arrival after earlier promise to receive these. Also a follow-up question remained unanswered. The caravan is convenient, but could be better equipped (e.g. no tea pot or coffee maker, no WiFi). Fine option for a city trip to Edinburgh though you could probably find a better location or better price if the city is your reason for visiting.
Convenient caravan nearby Edinburgh city and the beach.

United KingdomIt was not clean very out dated lots of things need fixing. The double bed has a leg that is broken and just propping the bed up the travel cot I requested had sick and stains all over it so had to be cleaned I had to clean all the kitchen to make it habitable the caravan is damp hence all the bottled perfumes around the shower is full of mould I think if you remove all the clutter and fix all the broken stuff it would be lovely in there we only stayed 4 days it was a double but I’d say it was a lot cleaner when I left than when I arrived I would highly recommend the owner goes and looks at the property to understand the scale of cleaning from the ceiling to the skirting boards!

United StatesLinens were provided but not bath towels. For those traveling from abroad, bringing our own towels isn't feasible. We had to forego showers for this reason. I had asked via the portal if towels were available several weeks ahead, but did not receive a reply until a couple of days prior our stay. By then it was too late to change.
Very clean, location was good, and the check-in was easy. Directions to our unit were a little unclear, but we found it eventually.

MalaysiaThe cleaner forgot to put in the bin bags, so we went to the minimarket to buy some. The host already stated in the list that there were no wifi and towels. So just remember to bring your own towels. We did not notice about the towels and didnt bring ours.
The location was good. It was great for family. My kids enjoyed the playgrounds, arcades and we even went to the beach. There were a mini market, a restaurant and also a fish and chip shop in the area. The caravan is family friendly. There were toaster, microwave and stove. But we didnt use the stove. Donna the host was quick to respond.
