How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A lovely B&B just on the outskirts of Betws-y-Coed - a short walk from all the amenities. The hosts were very welcoming, and the room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with lots of it - so bear in mind if you have a smaller appetite!😁 All in all, a lovely weekend stay.

We loved our stay. From the moment of arrival, we felt right at home. Paul and his wife went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They were great to talk with and provided many helpful hints about north Wales…and also Inverness! 😊 The bed was extremely comfortable…we both slept very well. The location is stunning making exploring the area very easy. A great array provided for breakfast each day for which we were more than happy to pay a small extra charge. We would have no hesitation in recommending Paul’s property.

This B+B is a little gem. It was spotlessly clean, lovely big breakfast using locally sourced produce, and a great location approx 15 minute walk from the town centre. Big thanks to our hosts Paul and Elena for whom nothing was to much trouble. Also provided a lot of local knowledge which was appreciated. We will definitely be returning!!

Super clean, great English breakfast, exceptional hosts that gave me a bunch of information on things to do and see in Betws and the surrounding area, and just a lovely and peaceful location really close to the bus stop.

A bit damp in the rooms/shower room but this is usually the case in houses converted into b&bs.
Nice place to stop on way to Snowdon. Comfortable and convenient. Not necessary to book breakfast for those of us who don't like cooked breakfasts. The hosts were attentive and the room was comfortable. Nice 15 min walk into town. Plenty of parking.

A very small thing but we found the shower a little small and a bit tricky to operate. But only a minor issue
The guest house was in a great location, walking distance to the town for dining options and had its own parking available. The hosts were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable about the attractions and helpful at all times. The room we had was not large but plenty big enough, the bed comfortable and all very well maintained. The breakfast was both continental and cooked and couldn't be faulted. We had a great stay and would highly recommend this guest house.

Fabulous hosts Elena and Paul made our stay special. Lovely couple with recommendations of places to visit locally. Highly recommend, breakfast was amazing with generous portions and plenty of choice : with locally produced goods. We stayed in the Chalet which had nice decor and was spacious and private. The hosts had given attention to every detail.

Really liked the location, far enough out and close enough in. Also a good starting location for the nearby walks in the area. The hosts were lovely and gave some great local advice about walks, food and things to do. They were able to accommodate a late check out, which we were so grateful for, as it allowed us to get an extra walk in before we left.

From the start, the hosts made us feel genuinely welcome— They were warm, helpful, and incredibly friendly. We could have talked for hours about everything and nothing—they’re such interesting, thoughtful people with a great sense of humor - it was like catching up with old friends. The rooms were very clean and the very generous breakfast is freshly prepared with local products. The village is pretty and offers some beautiful walking trails, one of which starts right outside the front door. A truly soulful stay, thanks to the people who make this place what it is. Next year we will return to Wales and definitely plan a few nights there again.

A beautiful place well laid out and comfortably set very close to town. Easy parking on the street. Breakfast was wonderful. The owners were the nicest people with all sorts of history and ideas for us to do in the area. Definitely the place to stay when in the area.
