How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The host was incredibly kind and responsive, always available to help with any questions I had. The location was perfect – close to everything but still quiet and peaceful at night. I especially loved the cozy atmosphere and the attention to detail throughout the space. Verified reviewThe stay was very pleasant. The owner was very nice and helpful. The room with bathroom was mega clean and pleasant. The view was amazing. Good location, about 15 minutes to the metro station and close to the center. Possibility to use the kitchen for tea or breakfast. Next time I will definitely stay in the same place.

Thank you for your feedback. I always aim to provide a clean, welcoming space and am glad that was reflected in your review. However, I do want to address a few points for clarity. You mentioned a lack of water in the room, but I always place a complementary bottle of water for guests in the room as a courtesy, not an obligation, and the kitchen tap is available for refills at any time. In fact, you left the empty bottle behind the next morning. Regarding the location, the property is very close to Canary Wharf, which you mentioned was your work location. The listing clearly outlines the area and transport links, and I also provided detailed instructions prior to your arrival. If your personal preference was to be closer to Central London, that’s entirely understandable but not a fault of the location itself. Most guests review the map and transport links before booking. You also arrived almost five hours later than your planned check-in time, at around 1 AM, without responding to my messages, in a state that made communication difficult. I always strive to be responsive, but timely and clear communication from guests is equally important.

Verified reviewThis was less than ten minutes walk from where our daughter lives, so the location was really convenient for us. We were going to see ABBA Voyage and it would have been perfect for that if the DLR hadn’t been down that day. As it was, we were able to walk back, so we can’t complain. The view was amazing and it was extremely clean. Great shower.
The room was a bit light, but my husband found extra curtains in the morning, so it may have been possible to darken it. Next time, I will take an eye mask.

Verified reviewVery friendly hosts who were very welcoming and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of Canary Wharf and location brilliant. In walking distance of Canary Wharf, Thames River walk and has a lovely cafe 1 minute from the apartment with great coffee and pastries.

Communication with Najia was excellent & very welcoming. 10 minute walk from Langdon Street DLR. Easy journey from the West End via tube & DLR to get to the apartment. Fabulous cafe serving delicious coffee & pastries in the park opposite the apartment building.
Arriving in the dark. Whilst google maps brought us straight to the building from the DLR (walking), we found it difficult to see clearly the name of the apartments on entrance due to a different & more visible sign being prominent at the entrance. Not a dislike, more an observation.

It's very careful, decorated with pleasure, the room with bathroom is comfortable, at night it's very quiet, everything is very clean. The well-equipped kitchen and the owners' deal was excellent. They're very nice and discreet. We saw them only twice in the three days we were there. Thank you so much for making us feel the stay as if it were our home.

Verified reviewI highly recommend this room with a private bathroom. Everything was very clean, the sheets were very soft and warm, the pillows and bed were super comfortable. I give a lot of importance to that and it was nice to sleep. The owners of the apartment are a charming couple, very friendly and always with a smile on their faces. They showed us all the nearby areas of interest and were very kind with the recommendations. no noise could be heard. everything was perfect. Communication with the metro is very easy. I would stay there again without a doubt. thank you so much.
