Fresh milk in the room for tea/coffee would have earned 10/10

We liked the model of half B&B/ half pub. It led to a friendly atmosphere conducive to chatting to fellow guests. Non-residents can use the restaurant a couple of days a week and we could see that this retained the old pub as a community resource - that seemed a great way to keep the benefits of a local pub while keeping it manageable to run as a couple. Comfortable room with Netflix. Authentic Thai food was delicious (traditional English also available). We could keep our bikes in the function room overnight.

Breakfast was ample and tasty, our evening meal there was delicious (all home cooking), and the location was beautiful in the heart of the lovely Welsh countryside. This is an excellent stay for hikers, cyclists or those just wishing to be in this beautiful location.

This is an ideal location for those walking Offas Dyke Path. Although slightly outside Knighton and off the direct path, it is easy to route back onto it. This is esstionally a pub that has changed to primarily focus on B&B. Don't let that put you off as a guest we felt in a pub, and the host was perfect. The food was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it, and it offers excellent value for money.

It was at the higher end of the expected price range but actually you can see that prices have risen and it impacts smaller businesses disproportionately so we do understand that. Overall it’s definitely worth it!!!

Very comfortable and clean room, we were the only guests on the first night of our 2 night stay but we were made to feel v welcome by Ying (owner & chef) She was as amazing and cooked delicious Thai food. Breakfast were very good and the second night the bar was open to the public and there were many other appreciative customers. A splendid place in a quiet village with so ouch in the doorstep in rural Wales. Even when we were the only guests eating in felt very homely and Ying was just an amazing host.

The location for us was perfect for an 9:00 start at the Phil Price Rally School a 15 minute drive away - even taking in a superb 'home-cooked' full English breakfast 😋. Comfortable beds, Ying was a very pleasant and chatty hostess, beautiful surroundings, though I guess the wall to wall blue skies made a difference! Evening dinner in the restaurant was also excellent in pub-style surroundings.

The breakfast was lovely and the location was ideal as I was attending the phil price rally school, also the main meals in the evening were very nice with a fantastic choice of either Thai or pie.

The proprietor told us if the window was open flies would come in and this was true. They’re surrounded by farms. I think a nice net blind on each of the windows would be good so you could have the window open especially as it was very hot when we stayed there. Everything else was perfect.

Not a “didn’t like” but Could be quite noisy at night due to footsteps next door/ around our room so had a bit of a disturbed sleep.

Had a fantastic stay at the castle in, me and my dad both had a renowned pie for our meal and it was so so good. The room was nice and clean with comfy twin beds. The breakfast the following morning was really good. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Not a "didn't like" but only a note, as a tall person, the towels were a bit small. Didn't affect our visit at all though and appreciate a bath sheet isn't everyone's cup of tea either!

Lovely location. Very peaceful and beautiful views. The room was very clean and comfy. The bedding was so cosy, we slept really well. The breakfast was delicious and well cooked. The owners were very welcoming and helpful.

The bed was a little too soft for my wife and I, and dipped in the middle so it was a bit of a restless night the first night we arrived.

Friendly, hospitable staff, very good food (we thoroughly recommend the pies!), good facilities and wonderful views. Perfect for exploring, walking, or for just wanting to get away. We would definitely stay here again
