Restaurant area was not very clean with barman doubling up serving drinks and food. He was alone and apologetic but very nice.. not his fault

It was very warm even with a fan blowing constantly, didn’t help that the industrial size boiler was in a cupboard in our room , it was like a sauna . Other than that it was a lovely room .

It was hard getting hold of the hotel to ask for an early check in. Food stopped at 6pm on Sunday which we were unaware of, but the bar staff did point us in the right direction of other restaurants which was helpful. Ashtrays outside were not cleaned for the whole time we were there. Ladies loos in the pub area were blocked up.

Good location. Room very comfortable and clean. Staff friendly. It was good value for money and near to the venue (Eden Barn) where we were attending a wedding.

Don't stay in room 1. It has the boiler in it, and it's noisy all night. It could get very hot in mid summer.

The bath moved whilst in it, it felt as though it could drop through the floor. The flooring felt very unsafe under foot. Quite tired looking decor and feel As though £92 per night was steep. After checking on the day the room rate had been reduced by £20 and I think the room rate should have been a lot less considering no parking facilities or breakfast included

The location was great, right in the centre. Bed was lovely and comfortable and a large flat screen Tv. Shower was great.

The accommodation was very tired and could really do with some TLC to show the true charm of the place. The breakfast comes at exactly the time ordered so don’t be late!. I would have liked slightly more variety at breakfast but understand with several tea rooms neighbouring it is probably not needed. The tables in the lounge were really sticky and could do with a good scrub with soapy water.

I loved the traditional old style of the property and the bar. The resident dog was gorgeous. The warm welcome of the staff was lovely. The central location in the town was perfect.

Great location for walking coast to coast. Very comfortable room Really helpful young man at the pub , who rang to see what time we were arriving and sent links for a taxi number to take us from the station.

Had room 1 which is also host to 2 huge hot water boilers. As a result the room is unbelievably hot. The whole place could just do with a bit of love too.
