How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Stains on the wall, no kitchen — it’s literally à microwave in the corridor. No WiFi, bathroom was DIRTY & no toilets paper. Let me not start on the towels because there were none and when I’ve found one, it was SO dirty. Would NOT recommend.

Having to try sort out last minute accommodation in London in peak season due to a scam host
You did not contact us via app , and expect hotel service this is a serviced accommodation you need to contact us via app before you come. You should be able to read the other reviews and see that a lot have guests have stayed sorry if you could not find the property but it is far from scam you need to use booking.com to correspond with us rather than just turn up to property and expect instant access your entitlement lead to you not getting inside property nobody knew your what time your checking in and you didn’t message through the app sorry but we cannot help with refund if you did not correspond with us correctly

It was Midnight working in a scarry Place looking for the Andress no bus or taxi a round! And people from the area told us that we are not the firs one looking for this place specialy student's but the adress Is fake... Dirty and not worth it

No matter what, never book this place! It was nothing but a nightmare, in the name of 'facilities' there's nothing but a broken bed that cranks all night, provided with wet stinking towels (maybe used ones) with a side table with spiderwebs in a room full of dirt and the bathroom worst than anything you can imagine, it's a degradation of basic human treatment! And mind me nobody will assist with complaints or try to compensate for what you were made to go throw and live, with photo proves provided the management promised to help and give financial compensation, it's been 10 days and nothing to follow up with, to add on they will block/ignore your messages making you seem like a crazy person! To add, booking.com isn't of any assistance either, what a great disappointment.

The condition the room was left in reflected poor personal cleanliness, which caused additional cleaning work beyond what is typical or acceptable. The complaints raised after the stay appear to be exaggerated and do not align with the facts. We are confident this feedback was an attempt to obtain a free booking rather than a genuine reflection of the experience. Verified reviewGreat value for money and good location. Host was very welcoming and on hand to support any enquires. Second time iv booked and had no problems. I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for a high class high luxury boujee place but if you are wanting to experience the normal average working class real experience with real Londoners then it’s worth the money. Overall very peaceful and wholesome with great vibes and energy
Cleanliness could be addressed as well as Wi-Fi however I didn’t ask I used my data so probably there is Wi-Fi if you ask.

Verified reviewWhen I entered the property there were a large number of young males using the back living room, when a guy came out to show me to my room and opened the living room door I could see and smell that they were smoking weed. House was not clean, especially bathroom. I did not spend the night there as I felt unsafe as a solo female with the group of men downstairs.

The whole place stinks of weed from when you walk in till you leave. Bathroom had no toilet roll and there was no lock on the door (you open the door with a bit of string). Theres random red splatter stains on the walls. The blinds were covered in paint. The door looked like it been kicked in and recovered badly. And doors don't look very sturdy, a good push would probably get it open. Area was very shady.
