Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI’d have preferred someone to be on hand, at reception more. The gentleman on reception, when present, was helpful.
The location was good. It was a 20 minute walk to the lake. I didn’t mind the walk and did not expect to be any closer, for the money I paid.

BulgariaThe room was very hot, even with a fan. The bad was not very comfortable, but it could also be the heat added to this. The place could be cleaner, especially considering that it is required to clean the kitchenette and dispose of garbage (otherwise, there will be fine charges) and collect the bedding and towels in a special bag. In addition to a 10 o'clock check out, there should be enough time for housekeeping to clean well - under the bed and other things, especially the overflow drain of the kitchen sink, which was rather unacceptably dirty.
The area of the location is quiet and there are a good number of shops and restaurants. Check-in was easy

15 minute walk to the Centre of Annecy, beds were comfortable. Easy check in and check out and easy to park your car (you do have to pay for the parking) the room was small but good enough for 1 night. Wouldn't stay here for a week though

United KingdomThe fridge is dangerously warm, we had to keep the bedroom door closed as there wasn’t any air-con and it just made the flat so hot !! I had 4 cold showers one night. We were a little scared that the fridge would set the apartment on fire Not sure we would stay again, but we weren’t really in the room much
Beds were comfy, only a 20min walk to the centre

RomaniaWe had trouble with the keys, called the emergency number and eventually all 6 of us slept in a 4 person room the first night, since the lady at the emergency line wasn't able to contact anyone at the property. If you have more than one room on the same name, be careful to only select your name on the keybox one key at a time. It wasn't a very big deal, but the key system should be improved. Another problem was the kitchen door, which blocked the toilet door if opened. At the end, they want you to put all the laundry in a specific bag that we weren't able to find at the location.
Location is close to gare routiere, easy to get to the old city. Clean overall

United StatesIt didn't have air conditioning and the bathroom appeared slightly unfinished around the shower.
Good place to stay when visiting Lake Annency. Decent kitchen to prepare breakfast, brew coffee and tea. Able to get drinks cold. We went during the summer heat wave, but the room had 2 fans to help cool off during the tremendous humidity.

New ZealandIt smelled quite bad, and the bed was very uncomfortable as it felt like styrofoam. It’s also in the rules that you need to strip the bed, put all the linen in a bag and also you need to empty all your rubbish from the room into a bag and walk out of the accomodation building onto the street and put your rubbish in the street bins. And you need to clean the kitchen to a standard that it is clean for the next guest otherwise you get charged €50! My partner and I are very clean individuals but we felt like this level of cleaning was doing half the job of house keeping and took a fair bit of time out of our morning.
Good location

LithuaniaThe corridor felt less cozy with bags of used bedlinen left outside rooms, and the rooms themselves felt a bit worn. Also, the rules were quite strict — guests are asked to remove their own bedlinen after sleeping.
Great location — just a 15-minute walk to Annecy center. Convenient parking, a nice breakfast with good coffee, and everything needed for a simple, comfortable stay.

NetherlandsThe smell on the corridor, but thats more for the guests that were staying there. Although the bathroom was okay, in de bedroom it was very dusty. We just arrived and i dropped something and was a little shocked by the dust under the bed. It was very hot. There was a mobile airco, but that didnt work so good. We bought an extra fan. At night it mostly cools off so just sleep with the windows open. The thin curtain is not giving so much privacy. We were lucky to be on a higher level, so breaking in would be a challenge, and we let the doors to the balcony open.
Few minutes from Lac Annecy/ centrum. Easily on the bike. It was very cheap, 400 € for 6 nights. We got a small but very usefull kitchen, that was awesome for that price. Much available stuff, for example a laundry device to dry your clothes. Later we saw in the information book that if you need a hairdryer or other assecoires, u can ask the staff. Sheets were clean. A small bathtub, but very nice. The bed/matress was, to our opinion, also very good.

AustraliaI did not like the smallness of the room - nowhere to put two suitcases. I had to strip the beds - really??? I had to put the rubbish out in the outside bin. There was no aur con just one fan - it was quite an unpleasant night as it was extremely hot.
Location was fair - 15 min walk to lake and old town. Breakfast was nothing to rave about - very ordinary. The receptionist was very nice. I really didnt like this place much at all.

United KingdomNeeds air con, even with fan provided it was very noisy and kept me awake. As when I stayed the temp was in the 30s. Also you have to strip beds yourself.
The location is great, not far from the centre and shops around. The apartment was quite big with a big balcony. The bed was also very comfortable!

FranceAt the weekend the hotel is unmanned and the unassisted entry is complicated - we made a simple booking error, an oversight (easy to do!) We were unable to get any support from the owners or booking agent. Fortunately a resident let us into the building and we managed to work the system from there. It was a disappointing and stressful start to our holiday.
Nice room with a comfortable bed, the kitchenette was a great bonus. It’s a quiet area and the walk along the river into Annecy is lovely.

FranceThere was no hairdryer but it was no big deal, I missed to read that they don't have one.
The room was nice and clean. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking, utensils and a working fridge. Bed was confortable. There was a desk in front of the room with a TV, another foldable table, and little night stands on both sides of the bed. There was also a jar with some goods inside: coffee, sugar, tea, and some snacks to nibble on which was pretty nice. We also had a terrace which we didn't really use but it could be nice on a sunny day. There was a closet to put the clothes on and a rack to dry clothes. We had a bathtub which I requested and it was perfect. The walk to the city center is around 10-15 mins which is alright. We checked-in after reception hours and it was easy to get the keys with the automatic key dispenser. Staff was nice as well.

New ZealandWe struggled with check in. As it was a weekend it was a self checkin. We couldn't easily locate the key cabinet. We thought it was the safe on the counter. Luckily another guest assisted us. Also didn't know how to use the control to lower the blind in the room and there were no instructions in English. Europeans are probably used to this type of blind but it is not something we have in our country and we were fearful of forcing or breaking it so did not use during our stay.
Well priced for Annecy and walking distance to the old city.

FranceWhile the room had everything, it lacked the feeling of being welcomed. It felt very dry. While it's great on paper, it's didn't make us go "oh wow".
The room was comfortable. The city centre is a good 15-minute walk. But there is a bus stand nearby that connects to the city via a direct bus, which is very convenient. The Burger King next door is a life saviour.
