Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe elevator was between the first and second floor, so we still had to carry our heavy suitcases upstairs. The shower was a bit too small for me. Other than that, it was okay.
The service was impeccable, we were greeted politely and felt at home immediately. The room was cute, and we got the one on the corner of the street, from which we had an amazing view on all the cozy restaurants out there.

United KingdomBreakfast was quite disappointing with just 1 croissant and a piece of bread
Easy check in when we arrived (the man on reception didn't give a great impression but checked us in with no problems). The room I had was at the back of the hotel with no view at all, but that didn't bother me as I only needed it as a base for sleeping and showering. Quite a weird layout with the lift between floors but quirky and in fitting with the building The room itself was quite dated but very clean, the bed was comfortable and there was a blanket in the wardrobe (which I didn't need) The bathroom was quite small but the shower worked fine and there were fresh towels and a bathmat alongside some shower/body soap and hand soap. The bed was made every day (except for the day I said it was ok not to but even then I was offered clean towels and extra soaps) Breakfast only consisted of a croissant and a piece of a baguette with butter and jam, although you could help yourself to coffee and orange juice (I was hoping there'd be ham and cheese etc but no very basic) The staff on reception were very helpful giving directions and advice on how best to get around Great location close to Metro and buses and of course the Moulin Rouge and other bars in the area All in all for a 2 star hotel I couldn't fault this little gem of a find

CanadaThis isn’t the hotel for you if you’re looking for an aesthetic experience. It is simple and serviceable.
This is an amazing location just one block from the Moulin Rouge. There is lots of great energy in the air here, but also be prepared for lots of noise from the brasseries across the street into the wee hours of the morning. Easy access to the metro, great restaurants, and Monmartre.

United KingdomRooms are a bit dated/old fashioned but were clean. Issue with towels when checking in as only given one between two of us so had to ask for more but they said they had limited supply (they did manage to provide more) and they had no bath mat for when getting out the shower which was a bit slippy. The big issue was how noisy the rooms are at night. Our room was at the front which meant we were over a bar with two bars directly opposite, the double glazed windows do nothing to keep the noise out so noisy until about 2am and on the weekend the bars have music so not much sleep for the nights we were there!
The location of this hotel as a base for sightseeing in Paris on a short break is excellent. The room is a good size for a city hotel, bathroom was spacious and clean. Very comfortable pillows on the bed. I did not have much interaction with the staff as my friend speaks French so she tended to speak to them if we needed anything but they all seemed to be friendly and helped us with any queries we had.

RomaniaThere is a quite old timber staircase. I assume that Paris is expensive, as there was no tea or such in the room. One could switch lights from bed, but from the area where there was the cushion.
The hotel is in a central place, though the centrum in Paris is large, and you need a bus for some places. However, some other are close (Montmartre, La Fayette). It is a neighbourhood with typical French facades. The Gare du Nord must also be close. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, with good prices. However, I had a quiet room, with view to the interiour very small courtyard. There is a very good transfer to the airport and I was sorry not to come like this, as it is only 40 cent more than the bus which leaves one at the Opera (21 min walk). There is an elevator, but at the half floor between 1 and 2 only. On the first day I did not find it. The room is neither big or small, it is OK and has a table with a chair. The bed is very comfortable. The room has a phone.
