How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The receptionist was rude to my husband as we arrived. Regarding him not being able to speak or understand French when holidaying in France. He has a learning disability and tries in each country we travel too but this comment made him feel very uncomfortable. I wish I was there for this sarcastic comment as I would have explained we have come from travelling many different countries and do not speak fluent language in each country we visit. She Spent time telling us ridiculous rules and regulations for the establishment eg. How to put the toilet seat down, use the taps plugs. Like this was our first ever time out on our own in the big wide world. All with a stand offish attitude She seemed very friendly with the French guests staying so presumably she don’t like the English. There is also no lift so if like us you have been travelling with luggage the stairs to the second floor were winding marble steep and thin. Could be dangerous. Carpark small and expensive

Verified reviewThe bedroom is really comfortable and the decor is to die for. Breakfast is amazing. Location couldn't be better and parking inside the property.
The rooms face the back of the property where there's a glass recycling collector, it's loud. Moreover, at least in our bathroom, despite being a great size, the shower is really small, impossible not to hurt our backs in the water tap.

Verified reviewThe Lady at the reception was quite nice and „waited“ for us till 20.30.
Although good location in the end overpriced - checkin should be before 8pm (in high season), groundfloor rooms are just behind trash pins and a parking lit on the other side and the matress is like a hammok - we did not sleep at all..

Verified reviewThe location and the room were fantastic.
The woman at the front desk, Virginie, was not hospitable m. Everything seemed to be an issue: we needed to store our luggage for an hour after check-out (that seemed to be asking a lot), we asked to stay 15 minutes in the lobby before we got picked up at 12:10 (that was tolerated but not welcomed), one of the coffee sachets in the room was damaged and I asked for another (oh!). I paid for a coffee in the morning and sat in the garden, at a table, and I was asked to leave because that area was for those who paid 25 euros for the breakfast, but there were 8 tables free…I paid 364 euros to stay one night and I was treated as an inconvenience, not a guest.

Verified reviewAbsolutely perfect hotel. Everything was great. A very intelligent woman enterpreneur who delicately cares about every detail, even the Coffee mugs in the breakfast room and the design of the kitchenware included. The location is more than perfect.

Verified reviewA Perfect Stay in Sainte-Maxime! This boutique hotel exceeded all expectations. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable, with a view from the balcony. The staff was warm, welcoming, making us feel like a valued guest from the moment we arrived. I also appreciated the excellent security — from the secure entry to the in-room safe, I felt completely at ease throughout my stay. Every facility we could need was available, and the attention to detail made us feel truly cared for. Sainte-Maxime is already charming, but staying here made it unforgettable. I’ll absolutely be returning on my next visit!

Verified reviewgreat location. very close to all of the bars, restaurants and the harbour. Perfect place to stay and very secure. Staff were lovely. parking on site which was a bonus.
wish there was a lift as had to carry the heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs that were really narrow. understand that this may not have been possible though due to the layout and the hotel being quaint.

Verified reviewIt was amazingly in the middle and yet quiet. Very clean and good value. Water taxi was wonderfully easy and cheap to take.
Stairs are a problem especially if you have luggage and helpers were not always available. Try to stay on the ground floor or first floor.

Verified reviewPleasant experience Room are clean and comfortable, the view from upper floors terraces is beautiful The breakfast is served in small garden Buffet is with good quality products, and you can also order something that can be made especially for your taste Private parking is a huge plus Step away from the port Stuff is very friendly You can ask them anything-they are happy to help in any cases and to make your stay comfortable
No elevator,so if you have a big luggage or mobility problems-it can be not really convenient (but they have ground floor rooms too so you should ask an advance) But for me it’s was fine

Verified reviewLocation doesnt get better in the heart of Saint Maxime. Rooms and bathroom was very clean - balcony off the bathroom with a sea view . Had onsite parking which was a reason I booked this hotel
Parking cost an additional 25 euros per day which was not made clear on the site before booking and was not mentioned on checking in which made the stay very expensive for our 6 nights.. Parking on weekends is chaos with too many cars and not enough space, so the host would come out and get very stressed and direct manner telling us to move our car., this was very stressful . We had to hand our room key in each time we left our room so it felt like a home stay not a hotel. No eating or drinking in your room - there is a sign on the door. No hotel facilities , no bar , no real lounge area .. just a room . We didnt have breakfast there because it was 25 euros per person per day which is expensive. This hotel is better for a 1 - 2 night stay , not a one week holiday
