How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGreat location, only a 25 minute walk to La Croisette which was ideal. Parking was easy around the hotel and a very nice area. Staff were very friendly and helpful with any requests. Rooms were very spacious, photos don’t do the size of the rooms justice. We were on the ground floor with a large terrace garden.
When we arrived at the hotel the room was very clean apart from the bin in the kitchen hadn’t been emptied. Lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room, no milk provided.

The room I received looks significantly worse than the photos shown on your website. • The sofa is only suitable for one person, not for two as shown in the pictures. • The table is noticeably smaller than advertised. • The sofa has visible stains, which is unhygienic and very unpleasant. There were even ants in the toilet. The overall condition of the room does not match the presentation in the listing and feels misleading.

1. The room was full of dust upon arrival. 2. Extremely small room that looked nothing like the pictures. 3. They took a €200 deposit “in case guests leave without paying” — I paid €50 for parking and they said the remaining €150 would be released, but it’s been 6 days and I still haven’t received it. 4. The room smelled like mold. I asked daily at the reception to clean it properly or change my room, but each time they acted shocked as if my request was unreasonable. 5. The hotel is located very far from everything. 6. No one helped with the luggage. 7. Definitely not an 8+ rated hotel — very overrated.

We also sincerely apologize if your request to change rooms was not handled with the attention and care it deserved — this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. Regarding the room size, we would like to clarify that all our rooms are a minimum of 30 square meters, which is well above average for our category. The photos on our website accurately represent each room type, and we strive to be completely transparent in this regard. As for the €200 deposit, this is a standard pre-authorization procedure used by many hotels. It is released on the day of departure, and while we process this immediately, the actual return of the funds can be delayed depending on your bank, especially in the case of foreign cards. Please feel free to contact us directly if you require a confirmation of the release. Our location was carefully chosen to offer guests a calm and peaceful environment away from the busy city center — a feature that many of our guests appreciate, although we understand it may not suit all types of travelers. Lastly, while we do not offer valet or porter services, our team is always happy to assist with luggage upon request. We are truly sorry that your experience was so disappointing, and we hope you will find accommodation more in line with your preferences in the future. The road that the hotel is situated on is a main through road and is very noisy at night time. Cars and motorbikes can be heard at all times and is clear as day in the room if you have one of the street facing rooms.

It’s a bit of a walk into Cannes but we were okay with the walk, for some it may be a little far - but the space is big for your room - and location is peaceful.

Verified reviewGreat hotel. Room was clean and a good size,beds comfortable. We had a great view on the 6th floor. It was quiet at night. An easy walk or quick bus ride into the centre of Cannes. Staff were super sweet. Capucine was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at the Mob Hotel again.
