Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaThere is very little cupboard space in the bedroom. The cupboard is tiny and the sliding doors crash into the hangers. They feel to be very cheaply made and the cupboard is much too small. There is no shelf or storage in the bathroom and the toilet in the shower is awful. It is always wet.
Breakfast buffet was excellent . Loved the madeleines. The room was very spacious.

Being one of the oldest nicest hotels it is about 1 mile from the old downtown area that has most of the shops and restaurants but talking the bus was very easy and the stop is very close. It is a very nice walk to the old town on the waterfront as long a you can do that distance.

United KingdomThere were only a couple of things that could be improved. One was the bacon at breakfast, which was unfortunately overcooked, and the lattes, which were served in tall, narrow glasses that made them quite hard to drink properly. The second issue was that every morning at 7 a.m., a grinding noise came from the wall, which woke me up. Thankfully, the noise stopped about 15 minutes later, allowing me to get some additional sleep.
A phenomenal experience staying at Hotel Martinez during the Film Festival. If you're a film fanatic or simply love spotting celebs, this is the place to be. Watching them come down the famous staircase while in the lobby on their way to the festival was a real treat. The room was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed and pillows; a great night's sleep for sure. My room backed onto the pool, which also offered some great views of BTS during their photoshoots. As the rooms are spacious and not very close to the neighbouring ones, they provided good soundproofing. Even when people walked outside, you could hardly hear anything. The staff were very attentive and always polite. Security was everywhere, and entrance to the hotel was well organized to ensure the safety and privacy of guests. All in all, I had a great experience and will be returning next year, availability permitting.
