How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Laure and Alex were friendly and welcoming. They provided answers to the questions we had about the area. Breakfast was unhurried and good. We had the apartment, so plenty of room and good facilities Town was a walkable distance from the property. No need to use the car. Enjoyable trip to Le Crotoy on the chemin de fer.

The building is quite old so there is a bit of noise when people walk about upstairs. However, it was quiet in the bedroom so it never caused us a problem.
Lovely appartment with all the basics required for a weekend away. Was great having a fridge in the apartment so we could make our own lunch/dinner. The breakfast was fantastic as were the hosts who couldnt do enough to make the stay special. Secure parking was an added bonus. The shower was great. I would certainly go again.

A really lovely stay - Alex was very welcoming and gave us lots of information about the area when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and everything in the apartment was excellent. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the beautiful location near to the medieval part of the town.

Great location with free parking and only a 10 min walk to the town. Accommodation was comfy and spotless clean. Hosts Alex and his wife were superb - very welcoming and informative. We will definitely come back.

The accommodation was on the edge of town (not far) so there was more walking than anticipated. However the excellence of the accommodation made up for this.
Excellent hosts managing marvellous accomodation made for a super holiday in Saint Valery. The breakfast was superb.

Couldn't lock the apartment from the rear. Had to lock from the inside, leave by the front and walk round the building. A small inconvenience but it wasn't raining!
The Breakfast was superb. A large choice of fresh seasonal produce prepared and served to an exceptionally high standard . The decor was excellent.

Bed was a little hard for us but that really is personal preference.
Pretty much everything. Clean, modern, walking distance to key areas in the town and friendly hosts who produce a welcoming atmosphere as well as good breakfast.

Great location for being able to walk to the town, especially as car parking is quite expensive. The hosts were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very good.

The room had a sloping roof and as I am over 6 foot tall there was ample opportunities to hit my head. We were advised prior to the booking that the room had sloping walls.
We were made very welcome by the host. Explained what was available in the area to do and made helpful suggestions. A substantial breakfast tailored to individual requirements. It was all made with quality ingredients. Superb. Parking in the town was by payment and difficult so this location solved that issue. An easy walk into town.

Super nice renovated old house, really cozy room decorated full of taste, really quiet and very close to nature as it is located close to the exit of the town. Breakfast was amazing, everything super fresh, I could choose between many things. The hosts are very welcoming and could answer a lot of things regarding the area of Saint-Valery and what to do and where to stroll. Highly reccommend!

There was nothing that we were unhappy with, it was an excellent choice.
We had a 2 night stay in the lovely town of St Valery . The owners of Le Relais des 4 Saisons, Max and Laure made us welcome from the moment we arrived . Our room was well furnished and the bed very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The location of the hotel is only about a 10/15 minute pleasant walk to the main town.

Everything was really excellent
We had the apartment, ground floor, and it was perfect. Clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Our hosts were brilliant, everything, including local attractions and advice was explained. Good location, 10 minute walk to the medieval town. St Valery is a fascinating and lively place to visit. Parking on site.

Check in at 4pm us very late. You lose a day and as French eat out early it give very little time for relaxing and preparing for the evening ahead.
The property was amazing. I have never stayed in such a clean property. It was ideally situated to visit the whole area on foot.

The duvet is a little heavy during the short heatwave. We prefer a luggage-rack than a sofa in the room. Also we aren't quite sure how the window shuttle works.
Very helpful and friendly hosts. The city centre and the marina are within walking distance. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful. The B&B is very clean and beutifully decorated. We can paddle at the Cannal Maritime which is 8 minutes drive away.

Room and property were very nice but we had an attic room with slanted walls and my husband kept banging his head!
Very pleasant owner who spoke excellent English. The location was very close to the medieval center, a bit further to the old center. Nice breakfast.
