Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIn order to use the kitchen, just for preparing a salad, it is advisable to better equip it with, at least, oil, salt, vinaigrette. Then, given the effects of climate change, I'd install the nets anti-mosquitoes/flies and something against the pigeons (which became a real problem, in particular, in every tourist city
Location is strategic The house is a registered city' historical site The owner overexceeded my expectations, she is born to welcome people at her home

LebanonIf you have big luggage, the round stairs can be tricky Luckily I only had a small bag.
The location was very central, in the heart of Bordeaux. The hostesse Frederique was incredible and made me feel at home. From the moment I arrived, she picked me up from the train station because the tram was not operating. On our way to the guesthouse, she explained what the main landmarks were and then she gave me a tour of the place. The breakfast was delicious and fresh, and Frederique did her best to accommodate my time and preferences. I enjoyed the stay at Le miroir aux Fées as much as our discussions over coffee. Totally recommend it if you're visiting Bordeaux!

GermanyNo elevator, which is logic because it is a 16th century house (or older).
Very good located, in the heart of the city. Frédérique is the best host ever, breakfast delicious, my room had everything needed, bed very very comfortable, clean and very quiet, even if you are in the heart of the city. The house is beautiful and very interesting. I stayed for four nights. I highly recommend it!

The location is perfect, right in the middle of town. The women running the B&B is very nice and accommodating. She let me leave my luggage downstairs after checking out which was incredibly helpful.

United StatesThe steps creaks, the bed creaks, the hotel is built in a 16th century shell. It was not a good match for me as I prefer quiet and privacy, but other guests loved it.
Very personalized experience by the manager of the hotel. Good hearty homemade breakfast. Steps to delicious restaurants. Unique experience..

FranceFrédérique was the warmest, most helpful, and most generous host imaginable. I let her know before my stay that I had special dietary issues due to an anti-cancer diet, and the day that I arrived, she was busy cooking a special gluten-free rice porridge for me, as well as homemade apple compote! This was well above what most hosts would have done to accommodate me. She also made me homemade almond milk! And found special gluten-free bread for me! I mean, she is a wonderful woman. I very much hope I can stay with her again. It's the people who really make a place homey, more than anything else, and I loved Frédérique.

United StatesMarine was our host and was absolutely delightful. The location is amazing - just around the corner from one of the main streets in Bordeaux, but very quiet. The breakfast was very good. There were steep stairs up to our room, but Marine carried my bag up while my husband was able to bring his own up. It's a historical building.

IrelandThe things that needs improvement are the internet which is told in advance that is not available on the top and the water kettle that needs a regular wash up to be able to enjoy a proper tea. Ps the exterior of the building needs a proper presentation in order to be easy to find.
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, ready to help you with anything that stays in their power even if the English is not their first language. The location is literally closed by everything that needs to be visited by walking and close by the tram. The place is delivering what is promising without a failure soo if you are strong of heart and fit you will be able to go up the stair case without no pressure but if you are older in your articulation look for something else.

Friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Room was perfect for what we wanted and the house is full of history and character. Room was in the heart of the centre but on a very quiet side street making it perfect for a quiet nights sleep. Breakfast was a typical French breakfast which was fresh and filling. I would 100% recommend this lovely place and will be back for my next adventure in Bordeaux.
