Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe owner misled me and lied by saying that on Sunday evenings, since this is the country, no grocery stores were open nor any restaurant for that matter. He mentioned that even their restaurant was closed, but he could fix me a little something for 40€ for supper. I didn't buy it for a second. When I got to my room I just Googled restaurants in Villeneuve-de-Marsan, and I found three eateries within 400m from the hotel that were open.
Great location. Lavish decor with a balcony. Comfortable bed.

IrelandIt’s a lovely hotel but with check in time so late (5pm) and check out (11am) you barely get to spend any time at all there. It’s also not a hotel where you can’t check in but you can stay in the lobby. No the building is locked up! Just be aware when you book. I had wanted to chill by the pool for the day and didn’t get much of a chance.
We stayed in the Ernest Hemming room and the bed was a two poster antique piece and very beautiful. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable. Martin himself is a huge asset to the place and is very very welcoming. The food: this is the best thing about this property. The duck was sublime and there wasn’t a thing I would change about the food. Every course blew us away!

United KingdomWe could have done with a brighter light in the room, we couldn’t see what was in the bottton of our cases.
Wonderful friendly welcome, extremely comfy very large bed. The rooms extend into the gardens at the rear so we didn’t hear any traffic. Lovely dinner.

IrelandCreepiest and mankiest rundown hotel I've ever stayed at. Deplorable state of housekeeping and upkeep; massive stains on the hallway carpet and on the upholstery, stained duvet on the bed, muck in every corner and in the drawers, grime on the mini-fridge, dirty walls, and filthy coffee maker (and they're asking 4€ for a capsule.) The door to the room was banjaxed and wouldn't latch properly, the aircon/heat ran noisy and the airduct was caked with dust. Cheap and gloomy lighting. Switching off the bed lights also turned off the wall outlet, had to unscrew the bulbs keep my computer charged up overnight. The "garden views" were of the roof of the place next door; you'd have to stand at the railing, peer down the alley and across the car park to see anything like a garden from -any- room in the place. The host/receptionist/waiter was a character, taking offense at the mildest criticism and making it sound as though not charging 40€ to stay 45 minutes past the 11:00am checkout time was a huge gift, when I was literally the only person there. Parking + dinner + breakfast added an additional 97€, absurd for the quality, level of service and for the region. I think there's some shenanigans afoot with all the glowing reviews on this site and on Logis Hotels site, someone's having a laugh.
Giving a 2 instead of 1 only because the breakfast was fine. The place was quiet as a graveyard because I was the only one there, and it's in a lifeless village. Dinner was fine, but not the haute cuisine that the host seems to think it is (even us boggers from Ireland know what real jamón ibérico looks and tastes like.) WiFi was good.

Nice selection of wine and - of course - Armagnac. Great breakfast with homemade yoghurt, home baked bread and more. Locally produced products or known origin. Friendly and caretaking atmosphere. United KingdomNothing to dislike.
As others have noted, this is quite an exceptional boutique hotel. It is beautifully decorated and the rooms are spacious. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding with "Monsieur Herve" himself explaining the provenance of the ingredients. Everything is home made and you can taste the quality. The dessert of conference pear tart with caramel and chilled marscapone was just delightful. We'd recommend staying here and would hope to return again.

United KingdomI am not a person to be negative, I have said in my previous statement what is in my opinion required.
The hotel itself is very large and has several themed rooms, clearly they were well presented at one time but age is showing and they need redecorating ( hopefully) without changing the ambience of the building itself, there was a contractor working so this maybe underway, we only stayed one night and never took advantage of the breakfast or dinner options. there is secure parking on site for an additional small fee.
