Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PanamaMy only complaint was the bathroom. Instead of a shower, it featured a bathtub, which posed several safety issues. The curtain was excessively long, making it difficult to bathe comfortably and safely. Getting in and out of the tub felt risky—it was slippery and lacked any secure handholds, which made the experience even more precarious. The oversized curtain only added to the hazard. Aesthetically, the bathroom was also disappointing. The walls had visible access panels or plaques, which detracted from the overall appearance. It felt more functional than welcoming. In short, the bathroom is in serious need of renovation—both for safety and visual appeal.
The hotel’s location in the Latin Quarter was excellent—just a short walk from the Pantheon and with a metro station conveniently nearby. Our room was comfortable and reasonably spacious, making for a pleasant stay. On our last day, the staff kindly held our suitcases so we could enjoy one final stroll around the city without any hassle.

CanadaThe washroom, or, rather, "toilet room" was separate from the sink and the shower - inconvenient to wash hands after using the toilet
Convenient location to reach different points of interest. Good air conditioning. Good service.

United StatesOn the negative side, the beds were just ok, with uncomfortable bedspreads that looked like they'd been used for decades. The facilities were mediocre and dated. I opted not to pay for breakfast and was disappointed with the terrible coffee available at a coffee machine in the lobby. If the hotel updated the bedding and offered fresh coffee or had an espresso machine for guests to use, I'd give it a higher rating.
Location is great and the staff were polite. Room windows opened onto the Arenes des Luteces, which offered a beautiful view. Noise from outside was minimal and windows were fairly soundproof.

United StatesI picked this hotel because it stated that it was air conditioned. Our room never cooled down. We eventually got a fan which helped somewhat. The elevator was broken for the last two days of our stay. I feel that this should have been a priority for repair. We were on the 3rd floor (4th by American measurements). Bringing down suitcases on a tight circular stairway was awful. There was no one to help;. Desk was manned by middle-aged gentlemen.
This hotel is close to several metro lines making it easy to get around the city. Room was attended to every day, ie making beds, refreshing towels, There are several nice restaurants, cafes close by that are not expensive.

MalaysiaThe lift was out of service (only worked the morning I checked out. I had one small baggage and backpack, stayed on the 3rd floor thus acceptable).
Friendly and helpful staff. The room is clean and comfortable. Love the big window for the wind, people watching and street photography. Great deal for a short 4 nights trip.

United KingdomTwin room very small, the beds were touching almost like a double bed! Hardly any plugs in the room, had to unplug the TV. Towels not changed during our four day stay. Can’t open the balcony as the door hits the bed. Bathroom was small and shower hose had a leak which sprayed water all over the floor over the glass onto the toilet. Lift out of action for one day which meant we had to climb a windy staircase to the room. Lobby had a bad smell about it.
Great location, helpful staff, nice view from balcony. Air conditioner works well.

NetherlandsEverything was fine. However, we did not like the situation with the broken TV because we had to explain to the administration that we did not cause it. That was unpleasant.
The room was okay. It was smaller than we expected and the renovation was not fresh, but it was completely acceptable. Our previous hotel, De Suez, close by offered much better conditions for slightly higher price. One surprising comment: the TV was physically broken by previous guests. The location is excellent, close to the most interesting places of Paris. The bathroom is acceptable, though the renovation is relatively old. More affordable price in comparison with other hotels near by.

CanadaElevator wasn’t working for the first 3 days of our stay, staff were embarrassed, stairs are spiral so tricky with hard cases suitcases, and up 4 stories.
Location is great, Easy to walk to many attractions, Latin quarter everywhere, on a metro line. Breakfast has a good variety of quality stuff, but it is in the basement. Front desk staff were welcoming and very helpful when we had an issue.

United StatesThe elevator broke down couple of times, but we were told that was due to the heat wave across whole of Paris. All rooms did have usb outlets, however I wish there was atleast one power outlet near to the table or the bed.
The hotel location is great for multiple reasons. To start with, its the hospitality of the staff here. Vincent from the front desk (spoke good English which helped a lot) went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated in comfortable rooms in spite of the short notice reservation. There are two metro's at walkable distance that take you to different directions to visit popular places. There are many restaurants around and Panthéon monument is walkable distance. Grocery stores and pharmacies are accessible by foot as well. The rooms should have been a little more bigger, but we found it comfortable for a 5 night stay. Not all bathrooms are remodeled, some still had antique bath tubs. Breakfast is in the basement and was complimentary with some good yummy options.
