Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHubert was a lovely man, very accommodating. We took a day trip to Paris and he went out of his way to give us a lift to the station. The property was beautiful and surrounded by history. We stayed in the 2 bedroom house. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed for a short stay.

United KingdomNothing for us (but be aware of loft ladder-like steps if you stay with young children).
The location was amazing and was right on the edge of the Hortillonnages (the floating gardens of Amiens). The property allowed us to borrow a boat and row through the small canals of the Hortillonnages which was great fun and a lovely experience if you like gardens! You can walk (or cycle, bikes can be borrowed) along the River Somme into Amiens which was a beautiful walk. We visited the Cathedral which is a UNESCO world heritage site and a stunning gothic building. The small house we stayed in was full of character and very quirky - great for a family with older kids (the stairs are like a loft ladder) surrounded by beautiful gardens. The host was very friendly and helpful. We were able to speak some French, but he did speak in English when we got stuck which was very helpful at times!

United KingdomThe only thing we didn’t like was the stairs in the Little House- there was a banister but no side to the stairs making it a little dangerous for children. But it’s not a problem if the children stay downstairs (there is only a bed upstairs anyway so no need for them to venture up there!) We loved the property and everything else was perfect.
It was a beautiful property and we were made to feel very welcome by Hubert. We had use of the gardens which were beautiful, and we were able to use the boat and bikes too. Hubert gave us lots of information about the local area and we enjoyed a lovely walk along the Somme into Amien.

AustraliaThe stairs to the loft bedroom were very steep and open. These could be dangerous for both young children and elderly guests.
Modern, well appointed apartment in a quiet location. The communication prior to arrival was good, and Hubert was very welcoming and friendly. Although we did not make use of them we had access to boats and bikes. The apartment itself had everything needed, and was very clean and comfortable. Use of the washing machine and tumble drier was much appreciated.

AustraliaNothing. It was perfect, and the perfect way to end our travels in France.
Everything. The communication with Hubert and his daughter, Anastasia, set us up for a wonderful stay. The property in its entirety is beautiful. Bordered by the Hortillonnages which can be explored by boat, the house itself is equipped with everything you need. The decor is delightful, with curious antiques and beautiful artwork throughout. The location is excellent- a comfortable stroll away from the city centre where you will find wonderful restaurants and the extraordinary cathedral.

CanadaThe location is superb and Huber offered us his canoe and rowing boat to explore the canals. It was so relaxing sitting in the beautiful garden next to the canal, listening to the birds and watching the various shades of light as the sun moved in and out behind the clouds which made me appreciate impressionist art. We loved the accommodation and Huber, our host was so hospitable making us feel very welcome. Can’t wait to visit again one day.

United KingdomThese are very minor issues: The steep staircase to loft (La Petite Maison) house has no glass partition, so may not be suitable for kids to sleep or walk upstairs Internet connection is a bit slow, but no big issue The bedroom upstairs could do with a mirror
