How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is a good size apartment for a family of four, or a couple. It is in a quiet, pleasant area just outside the centre of Juan Les Pins, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, beaches, bus and train routes. It has two excellent bath/shower rooms for convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped apart from a few obvious omissions (see below). The apartment complex has a pool in the gardens, and ample secure parking.
The apartment doesn’t feel loved or lived in by the owners, it is very sterile with no pictures or any homely ornaments etc. and would benefit from some more mirrors e.g. in the hall. It generally didn’t feel like anyone had used it for several months. It is advertised as “with garden view”, but in fact the entire external area is screened with hedges and cane fencing, such a shame because the gardens are lovely. The exterior had been untouched prior to our arrival, we had to wash down the patio table and chairs, sweep the patio, and tidy the other furniture, but we left the remains of the barbecue coals that had just been dumped on the ground! There are also two mouldy sofas outside which basically seemed to need taking to the tip. There was a “Welcome Pack” - little more than a couple of Nescafé sachets, very disappointing. The kitchen lacked a bread knife and board (for baguettes etc), there was no brush for the 3 dustpans, several of the china and glasses were chipped, there is no baking tray for the oven (which also only had one wire shelf), the washing-up brush was ancient, and the crockery/cutlery drawers smelt “stale”. The advertised hairdryer turned out to be an empty box, and despite messaging the agent was not replaced during our stay. The duvet on the king size bed was only double size, so we had to use one of the singles as well. There was some other bedding occupying half of one wardrobe, but it looked rather scabby and we didn’t want to touch it. The lounge area is a bit strange, the only seating is a sofa bed, inevitably with the usual uncomfortable, slippy seat cushions, and is as far away from the small TV as it can be, so watching anything wasn’t great.

Verified reviewThe location was very good, 10 minutes from the coast.
This was NOT a 4 star accommodation. The grounds of the apartment were grubby and dirty, old barbeques, cigarette ends littered the patio area with dirty mouldy furniture not fit to sit on. Clearly the area had not been cleaned for years. Layers of dust and debris on the tennis table with old worn out bats and balls. Although the inside of the apartment was clean and tidy the whole of it was infested with ants, in every room, kitchen, dining area, bedrooms, bedding, shower room, toilet, lobby, cupboards, everywhere! The Agent, no you are NOT renting from the Owner direct via Booking.com, was unaware of building work going during our stay which meant we were unable to enter or exit the apartment for six hours on two days of our visit. They offered to supply "product" for the infestation of ants not professional help. The agent is Elite Properties FRANCE, 06370 MOUANS-SARTOUX. Tel +33 4 92 93 68 68. You can check out the apartment on their web site. There was not any instructions for any of the appliances and the WIFI code took 3 days to appear, During our stay someone randomly entered the apartment with a master key without our knowledge or consent. Although clean and tidy there were electric sockets that were badly fitted with exposed wires visible. There was a DVD player and an Epson printer scanner in the apartment neither of which had connections to power supply, so pretty useless. There was not a single fire extinguisher in the apartment, To collect the key for the apartment you will need a car or taxi as there is no facility on site but you have to go to a collection Box some distance away. There was no welcome pack, so not a single piece of soap or one dishwasher tablet but one roll of cheap toilet paper. Come prepared because NOTHING is supplied, great when you arrive at 8pm in the evening!
