Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom was a bit dated but clean, comfortable & great value for money.
The area was stunning and the Inn had lots of character. The staff were very friendly & even though they were busy spent time going through the menu with me (My french wasn't as good as I thought!) The food was delicious. The bed even though it felt hard when we first sat on it was amazingly comfortable.

United KingdomExternally the property could do with some upgrading particularly to the terracing. Certain areas could do with a tidy up. Easy to say when the hosts have their hands full, I'm sure.
Location lovely. The property has lots of character, and a good feel. The food had an interesting vibe, quite traditional, fresh and of good quality.

United KingdomRoom rather basic and has no Tv. But it’s s historic 200-year-old building, so it befits character.
Extremely helpful and friendly manager/owner who speaks fluent English. This property would be awesome in summer - when one could take advantage of garden area alongside gorgeous stream running past property. Fab mountainside walk 20-min drive away - and they have a lovely border collie cross who welcomes guests

United KingdomA friendly welcome. The room was large and clean; it has seen many summers but the rooms have a certain charm. The setting of the hotel is perfect, there is a lovely garden overlooking the river and the woods a great place to relax. The restaurant provides delicious meals. A basic but ample breakfast.

PolandThe receptionist was rude. First of all he offered us an expired beer. From Google reviews we realized, that it's not the first time, so apparently he tries to sell stuff that's expired, which is illegal in the EU. Then when we were nearly going out of the room at 11, we needed a few more minutes to make sure we packed everything. Yet he came and started yelling that checkout is at 11 and created pressure. So the attitude of the host was bad, not hospitable. On the contrary, the chef came from the kitchen and introduced himself and then asked if we were happy with the meal, a very sweet man. The room had a bad smell, I assume it's from old things in it. Also, I don't have any issues with animals, I love animals, but their cats and dogs are walking around and entering the kitchen. For those who are allergic it might be an issue. Also pillows were uncomfortable. And a bunch of insects were everywhere. I guess it's hard to handle them in the middle of nature, but still. Some spiders had a pretty thick net build in our room, so it means the room wasn't properly cleaned before we arrived.
The location right above the river was nice. Also, the place is really vintage, yet taken care of. So it gives the vibe of visiting your grandparents. Nature around is amazing. Food was okay.

FranceThe reasons why I will stay here again: 1. The establishment has a wonderful combination of being quirky, historic and charming. As the building is over 200 years old it has lots of oddities and charm. The owners have added lots of antiques and other quirky additions throughout adding to the quirky charm. 2. The location is great. It also on the crossroads with at least two awesome valleys (and their mountains and lakes!) to explore. I can imagine the autumn must be spectacular with the changing leaf colours of the vast forests. 3. Evening service was superb - absolutely delicious food! A thoughtful menu with a wider than expected selection of choices. Stay a few days and explore all the options! The menu was available in different languages. The menu had interesting history and facts about the area/ 4. The menu prices were very reasonable, particularly given the variety and quality of the food and the service. 5. The ambience in the restaurant was superb. I ate alone and just watched the theatre happen in front of me. I enjoyed watching the service by 'the waiter' (owner) and the people at different tables enjoying themselves (and some couples arguing after a few too many drinks - as is expected?). 6. I paid the lowest price for a room, so I was in the roof (as would be expected), however I had a double bed, a sitting area and a separate bathroom - with a bath. All excellent and suitably quirky. Great for the price point. 7. I chose this place because I search out places where two or more rivers meet. Such places are special, in my opinion. I have travelled much of the world this way. This was a great result - two rivers meeting and a great establishment. 8. There is a fantastic outside area including a 'beach'. There is also a natural 'pool' where one could swim as well. I didn't try it but it appeared that way to me. 9. I enjoyed an informative chat with one of the owners.

SwitzerlandRoom a bit old so didn't feel very clean and no access to a kettle or mini fridge. Staff not friendly:( I wasn't directed to the river for a swim as I arrived despite the very warm summer day it was, had an argument with owner as simply asking for hot water. no options for vegans at breakfast and for dinner as confirmed by email they had 1 vegan option but very light (for a cyclist) and quite expensive for what it was.
The room was very nice and location

United KingdomThe rooms are that of a basic hostel that has not been updated or refurbished in a very long time. Peeling paint, water dripping down the wall, no soundproofing, poor decoration, holes in the sheets, dirty shower, etc. I was willing to overlook all for the nice setting on the riverside. However, on our last night we were treated very badly by the very hostile and aggressive owner Robert. At first we thought his abruptness was due to his lack of english. He took umbrage when I requested that the table we had booked for dinner be one in the dining room vs in the reception area. He managed to fit us in the restaurant and I thanked him. He sat us at a table, providing menus in french and for which we were using our phones to google translate. He eventually brought us an english menu, but he became irritated that we were taking too long to decide what we wanted. We had questions about the unusual menu (turkey gizzard salad and tripe, frozen trout, etc). My husband asked what the pate was served with and he abruptly said, you have bread on your table? My husband then asked for a drink, Robert turned quickly to leave, never asking the rest of if us if we would like drinks. We called after him and he came back, got one more drink order and then turned without asking the other 3 what we'd like. I was still giving him the benefit of the doubt as the dining room was busy and he appeared to be on his own. He then approached our table and in a very hostile and aggressive manner, demanded to take our order NOW as he had other parties coming in. All of our faces were shocked at the way he had spoken to us. He asked what was wrong with my face and I said that his tone was the problem. He said that I had tried to undermine him from the first he had seen me, that he didn't like my face or the tone I had used with him. We are a mature group of adults, we were not drunk or unruly. He said if we didn't like it we could leave. The rest of the dining room was aghast too.
The setting on the river was lovely.

From time to time in travels you stumble across a hidden gem that blows your expectations and the Auberge the Deux Rivers is one such place. For one of our days cycling our tour itinerary had us stopping in the town of Seix (4km from Deux Rivers). Naturally looking on booking.com for accom my eyes opened wide when I first saw the price of this place, which was very affordable, as I clicked in the images of the place it did it even more justice. I knew we had to check this out with the added bonus of having a cold mountain river at our doorstep, for dipping our sore bike legs into. There was already a lot of excitement heading to this place before we got there. Anyway fast forward to a few days ago when we checked into the Deux Rivers. The location immediately exceeded expectations it looks similar in the photos but even better with your own eyes. The inside also has a nice homely feel to it and the building has been around for many years. We were greeted by the fantastic host from Belgium (I forget his name) but he was very friendly and helpful. Did the usual stuff at the hotel checked in, relaxed etc. Added bonus of the cool river swim just a 30 second walk from hotel. Now when this place really blew us away was for dinner. My assumptions coming to this little small hotel in a small little village was that we were gonna get the same classic meals wed been having the last fews days in France but we were all stunned when the menu came out. 3 - 4 arranged set menus all with different themes e.g. classic, vegetarian or a more local cuisine one where you got entree, main and desert. I mean we were excited when we saw this, a little nervous if the chef could pull it off but after the entrees came out we knew we were about to get the royal treatment. The dishes were unique and very tasty. Theres not enough room to write good about this place just go there and stay for minimum 3 days. Overall we gave it a 43/10
