How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hostel was perfect for our trip.
We stayed during a heatwave and there was no aircon or fans which made the room a bit uncomfortable with the bathroom being in the same room, however that is completely out of their control.

Verified reviewI have been coming to the same hotel for the second year and I am particularly satisfied with the hospitality, I always meet new people and feel at home. The location is excellent, everything is close.
I didn't like the cushions for sitting in the garden, they could change that and maybe introduce some new ones...

Verified reviewThe breakfast was fantastic and the staff was lovely and very helpful. The facility is not far from the Old Town of Nice and the waterfront which was great!
The main thing that I wish I knew before booking was that this facility does not have AC. You can pay extra for a fan but I definitely was not as comfortable while sleeping. Had I known this beforehand I think I would have mentally prepared for it but it was a surprise to me upon arrival.

Verified reviewHostel is nice and clean, with perfect location, it was definitely a good decision.
In hostel lobby was always some french guy speaking also Spanish, who doesn’t stay in the hostel, he is just friend of one of receptionists. This guy was trying to meet new girls there and we had feeling he is disturbing and spoils the hostel atmosphere.

Verified reviewI just cannot understand how the business that takes at least €50 per person per night cannot provide the comfortable sleeping conditions. We were seven boys in my room, each paid 50 Euro, so it’s 350 euro in total, and there is no AC, there is no shower gel, and if you want a towel, you have to pay extra. I feel it’s embarrassing for France snd Europe to welcome International Travelers this way. I understand we are living in the area of capital over humanity, but this is beyond what should be accepted. And their breakfast consists of the cheapest products from a supermarket. Unfortunately, most likely this is still the best thing that you can get in Nice.

Verified reviewLocation was good, close to transport, grocery stores and about a 15 min walk to the water.
I was attacked by bed bugs staying here, i had bites all over me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find them, although I could have looked harder using a card to swipe narrow crevices. There were little dots of blood on the bedding which is a sign of bed bugs, along with the many bites. The shower cubicle would flood, requiring you to use your foot to force the water down the drain. The one toilet per level meant it got dirty very quickly or was often occupied, plus it was outside your dorm. This hostel was expensive, i paid just over 50 euro per night, and for what? To get attacked by bed bugs, be boiling every night because of no air con, using stinky toilets that needs more frequent cleaning or an air freshener provided for people to use to save the next person from preferring to hold it in. If I aid half of what I did, i’d accept it for the cost. But I paid a lot of money for a completely basic hostel, like the bare minimum kinda hostel. Oh and the bed bugs. I do not recommend.

Verified reviewI think the best quality about this place is its location and terrace. Quiet anrea, Easy walking distance to the train station and the old town/sea promenade. The beds were very comfy and steady, the only thing that would could make it better would be curtains for more privacy. No AC so it can get really hot at night (our room fan was not working well, so when I inquired at the reception Greg gave me a small fan, which was a nice gesture). I think overall it was good for the price.

Verified reviewAs a vegan traveller, I am very satisfied for their vegan options; you can find soy milk, and oat mix which contains other sunflower etc. Their eployees are really very helpful; their behaviour is so nice. When I said that I am vegan, they brought me a lot of foods including gluten-free options. You can really see their endeavour for the support.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was quite standard. The guests' qualities varied greatly. There was a lot of noise when entering and leaving the room. Of course, I knew this was beyond the hotel's control. But in the hot summer with a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, there was no air conditioning in the room. This was simply unbelievable and unbearable. Of course, the hotel front desk was very friendly and the seats were excellent. There was no doubt about that. This is the only reason that makes me score as qualified.
AC must be indispensable

Verified reviewThe location was close to everything and they had a nice patio area to sit and converse with others and they are very relaxed.
NO AC. You get what you pay for and you can purchase a fan but I missed that there wasn’t any air conditioning and there are lockers but you have to purchase a lock. One of the staff at the begging offered to place my belongings in the locked room where they store luggage but I had to come down a few times to get toilettres and change clothes and such and the rest of the staff were very annoyed with me and not very friendly. The breakfast isn’t worth it, just go to Old Nice and have there.
